I have exactly the same problem.
I am a new user to Windows 7 64bit. I have enabled Mindump under startup and recovery settings and started an set to auto for Windows error Reporting service (I previously used Vista 32bit so I knew how to setup minidump).....BUT NO MINIDUMP FOLDER EVER MATERIALIZES, so I created the folder myself in the correct location but NO DUMP FILE EVER APPEARS.
I am also getting the constant problem with event41:
I have run Memtest86+ on all 3 memory sticks separately, in pairs in all combinations of order, all 3 sticks in all combinations of orders. Each test run for 10 hours total time 12days. So I guess I have verified Ram's good.
Video card runs with no problem in my other machine.
Have verified no Problem with PSU I have testing equipment for this purpose.
I have run Western Digital Lifeguard Hard Drive Diagnostic (Full Test) several times but it will only run in safe mode otherwise event 41BSOD appears.
Have run sfc!
Norton IS will cause event 41BSOD unless it is run at 32 threads (the fastest speed).
DISCCHECK always causes event 41BSOD.
Restarting from Sleep always causes event 41BSOD.
Leving the the machine idle or without password entered and idling will cause event 41BSOD in around 45 mins. And it will reboot (untill I undid restart) every 45mins, if left idle.
But all my video games run perfectly with no crashes, Windows moviemaker will run at%100 of cpu for over an hour with no problems and temps under 45c. Prime will run no problem, SiSoft Sandra burnin will run for hours no problem.
It appeared to me that all high drain processes worked and low power processes cause the BSOD, so I disabled all power saving settings in BIOS (including speedstep). DIDN'T WORK!
Took all power leads, cards, sticks cleaned them with alcohol and lint free cloth, blew out all slots. Event 41 still occurs but at least I can fully utilize my machine at the moment. I can't use sleep or any disccheck, and have to turn it off if I leave machine.
Can't find any hardware problem, have come to the conclusion it's in Windows 64 Bit after a few reinstalls have found the problem will occur with just the OS running but gets worse the more software installed. Windows 64 does have software faults have a look at your event viewers and have a look at the event "Kernal -Tracing" it's pretty clear that the log file fills because it's not overwriting

From the volume of people with event41 problem Microsoft really need to have a very good look at what are the causes and get a much better diagnostic in place, I would bet it's software, the vanishing minidumps a problem!
