Hello,

Hope someone can chime in on this question. Is there a graphical listing of icons in the default windows 7 library? I ask because I really only want to change one of these icons...The utility @ deviantart does not show actual representations for all of the icons that actually show in explorer, and I am leery of changing icons i suspect might be the one in question.

I specifically only want to change this icon...

I'm f'n tired of looking at it lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again my man, hard to believe there are other people out there who are as anal as me that there is a full writeup on here for it :) The first method didn't work for me, but the second regedit method did.

Interesting note...I had put an Application_Icon.ico in system32, and then realized that the main image in the ico was too far from the edges, and didnt show right...so I decided to swap it for an alternate choice, and when I attempted to rename said icon on my desktop, after the name change....the icon changed to the one i had just put in system32!

haha. had to delete the system32 icon, then copy the new icon to same folder, then rename the icon back to Application_Icon.ico.

Very strange behavior, and although I think I get it....I really don't :)

I guess I'll just avoid ever nameing an icon that again ;)
