If I understand correctly, Windows 7 also enables several other SSD support features when you switch to AHCI, like TRIM support, NCQ, etc. with msahci. Is this incorrect? You seem to be insinuating the only feature of AHCI is hotplugging (which is nice in and of itself). Not to mention some benchmarks show slight performance gains...but that's nominal at best.
