Hi there,

For the last few weeks i have a little problem whit my laptop.
I play Skyrim, wich uses steam to run it, sometimes it goes fine and i can play for several hours, sometimes my laptop crashes just a few min after i start playing.

I can get 2 errors, the first one is a "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library" error, what ever that might be.

the second one is an instant shutdown of my laptop, like someone used the reset button.
I don't get a BSOD, he doesn't restart and doesn't create a minidump file.

I tried the fcs /scannow function in the command prompt, but it gave 0 errors.
I run the driver verifier, wich makes my laptop very slow, but it doesn't show anything.

I followed the instructions at this post "/187134-instant-shutdowns-while-watching-videos.html" but so far it is of no use.

I run a Prime95 program on my laptop to see if it is a CPU problem, but so far it just pushes my CPU to 100%, but runs fine.

Now the SF_Diagnostic_Tool is gathering all the Data, i'll post it when it is done. Although it allready mentioned that there is no minidump file.

If you feel brave enough, I would say that you should open up your laptop and re-seat (pull out and put back in) the RAM. If the video card is not built into the motherboard, you could re-seat that too. Additionally, while you have it open, if it looks really dirty or dusty, get a can of pressurized air and blow out the dust. Dust build up in a laptop will cause it to overheat and shut down.

bin a while now.. your advice worked. There wasn't much dust in the laptop, but re-seating the hard drive and motherboard did the trick. So far the crashes are over :) thx for the help.
