Iphone Will Not Sync

So, with 2 installs of build 7000 and 1 install of build 7100 I cannot get my Iphone to sync with Itunes 8.1.1.10. If I click sync after my Iphone shows up (and Windows does recognize it as an Iphone and installs just fine) it just stays at "Syncing Iphone" and does nothing else until I disconnect it. How can I get my Iphone to sync on Windows 7?

Maybe you need to setup a new itunes database (library) on the computer? Not sure sorry.

Try installing Microsoft .Net Framework 1.0 and/or .Net Framework 2.0 Maybe itunes needs this. Are you using 32 bit Windows 7 or 64 bit?

Using 64 bit, but shouldn't windows 7 automatically have these?

I think Windows 7 will only have the Framework 3.5. I don't think it will have the older versions even thought 3.5 suppose to be like a rollup of old versions. The Itunes software still may want to see Framework 1.0 installed is what I am getting at.

What is your computer model? Had exactly the same issue (plus Windows Media Player crashed)

FIX FOR windows 7 syncing iphone

first of all im 15 so all of you should have figured this out
1. go into device manager
2. have your iphone plugged in and on the home screen
3. you will see other devices tab
4. click on the arrow of other devices tab
5. right click on the iphone and then click properties
6. click on the driver tab and then update driver
7. then browse my computer for driver
8. then click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
9. check the compatible hardware box at the toop
10. click on apple mobile device usb driver and hit next
congrats!

thanks adelong but that stops working once ive turned the computer off. every time i re-boot i have to do these steps again. is there a more permanent solution?

I am sorry that I don't know how to do quotes or anything but I don't know why it isn't permanently staying like that for you it is for me... Maybe search for how to make drivers stay after reboot?

Win7 64bit iPhone photo sync can work

I find that if I go to iTunes, with the iPhone connected, and select my phone in the devices and then the Photos tab, I CAN sync my pictures IFF I select "All Folders" (as opposed to "Selected Folders"). So I had to move my 2000+ pictures into about 12 subfolders under one new folder (I call @iPhone) - and selected @iPhone as the one folder to sync. Note that my @iPhone folder is now on a NAS drive. (Not sure this has anything to do with this... but my picture folders to be sync used to be on C: -- and that was when I couldn't sync any pictures at all -- and also when I used to use the "Selected Folders" option.)

So - to recap: move all the pictures to sync in subfolders under ONE folder and select that folder with the "All Folders" options. You may be lucky as I have been. I have restarted to PC, and added some pictures after a first sync, and it still works perfectly.

Oh, and I *did* follow the counsel of our 15 year old friend above! (Using the device manager to reinstall the drivers for the iPhone (found one - one under "Mobile devices" - and then two under "USB connections.")

i dont know why but that wont work anymore for me! itunes keeps trying to restore backup and even that wont work properly!! wtf is wrong with this ****!!

Try hard resetting your phone.

Disconnect the phone from any other devices. Press and hold down both the power button on the top and the "home" button on the front simultaneously. Ignore the message about powering off. After a few seconds the screen will go black. Continue to hold both buttons until the silver Apple logo appears. At that point you can release the buttons. Allow several minutes for the phone to complete the process.

The sync process should now work properly. I find it useful to perform a hard reset of my phone every couple of weeks or so...just as maintenance.

ok. so ive hard resetted the phone and done the update driver thing again and itunes now pops up with phone not able to be read, please restore factory settings. i know my posts are probably annoying the **** out of you guys but trust me its worse on my end. i dont know what the hell im meant to do now?

I tried doing this but it doesn't have my iPhone under Other Devices. I'm not even sure I have the same problem, what happens to me is I press sync on my iPhone in iTunes and it says preparing to sync for about 10 seconds and then just stops. Please help.
