java update!

hi!

I have updated to the new version of java.But when i test it if it is updated by going to the website Java Tester - Home Page it shows an error saying that"The following Plugin is unresponsive.Would you like to stop it now?Yes or no?
When i press YES the java plugin crashes and when i press no the dialog box stays and doesn't go away.
I tried the google chrome forums and also the oracle forums but to no avail.
So i thought i'll give a last try at this forum.It is quite annoying.

Help would be aprreciated

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? You might also want to try turning off the java plugin helper in the browser as that has caused me problems in the past... it doesn't really seem to do anything anyway.

I have reinstalled the java plugin but to no avail.Well some websites require the java plugin so that is the reason i want to install the java plugin

Hello Mahesh. Couple of questions if I may.

1. Are you using the plug-in for Chrome browser only?
2. Did you experience Java issues on any specific website(s) and that's why you decided to use the Java Tester website?
3. If you experienced Java issues what error messages did you receive (not the error message from the Java Tester website.)
4. Have you tried using Java on any other browsers just to see if it works?

hi!

1)I have installed java 7SE update 17 for all the browsers and the problem is only with the chrome browser.
2)yes when i went to this website keepvid.com i get this error saying the plugin is unresponsive.
3)the error message is the same on all the websites which runs java asa the plugin is unresponsive.would like to stop it now if i say yes the plugin crashes and if i say no the error message won't go away.
4)It works fine with browsers like IE but i am having problems with chrome especially after i installed this latest update.


Help would be appreciated.

Perhaps it's not a Java problem but a Chrome developer problem since Java works fine with browsers like IE (#4). Chrome seems to release a new browser version every few days. Depending on which version of Chrome you are using, perhaps you could try the latest version (if you're not already using it) or an older version to see if it makes a difference.
