I figured this was the best place to put this.
I've been experiencing the infamous Black Screen of Death for a few days now. I've tried scouring Google for an answer, but most answers seem to rely on uninstalling a specific program or restarting 'explorer.exe' through the Task Manager. The latter would be helpful, if Task Manager didn't greet me with an error everytime I attempted to start it (0xc0000022).
I have tried System Restore, but it breaks with a 'failed to extract the original copy of the directory' and mentions 'complusstaging'.
An SFC scan yielded corrupt files but was "unable to fix some of them."
Chkdsk (multiple times) did nothing for me.
I've tried to insert my Windows disk and select"upgrade", but it wants me to perform the action from the desktop -- the desktop I cannot do anything on.
If anyone can help me, I will personally come to your house, get on one knee and ask you to marry me. Well, maybe not that extreme.
