Hi All

Often I encounter the really irritating problem on my Windows 7 ultimate OS:
My mouse wheel property is set to scroll slow vertically (so it only scrolls small increments at a time), and without me changing anything, it just changes and scrolls big chunks per wheel scroll at a time. How can I fix it? without restarting the PC (Cause restarting helps, but restarting every time is annoying)

Thanks

Who manufactured the mouse? Wired or wireless?

Without that information, try visiting the manufacturers site and check for updated drivers.

Yes.

If at the same time you are resting any part of your hand, palm, fingers on the touchpad. Some touchpads all you need is to be close to the surface.

Also your graphics driver might need to be updated. Your bios might need to be update. The onboard chipset driver may need to be updated.

Do you have a program on your computer to modify you mouse settings. You may have accidently changed something. See if you can reajust it. I dropped my mouse and it change a setting. My mouse also has a button the change the wheel action.

Hi Karlsnooks. Thanks for your answer. So you think updating all that might solve the problem. I need to do it anyways...thanks. How exactly do I update my BIOS and my chipset drivers? Also, isn't the chipset drivers part of the BIOS drivers? Thanks a lot

DextrousDave,

You go to the MSI website and fetch:
the manual for your motherboard,
fetch the bios update for your board,
fetch the chipset update,
fetch other drivers.

This will give you a marvelous opportunity to get on intimate terms with your motherboard and its components both hardware and software.
