Multiple registry and missing dll errors on new re-install Windows 7

Hello All,

I just recently contracted a virus and opted to reformat 2 of my 3 hard drives (the 3rd was used to store documents and backups form the other 2) After reformat/install everything seemed fine until I proceeded to re-install several of my games.

Borderlands installed and proceeded to give me an error that one of the physX .dlls was missing. I managed to find the dll and get it re-installed but then another physXextensions.dll was missing which I was not able to fix, but the game itself works and plays fine.

Then I re-installed Alpha Protocol (worked fine) proceeded to install the 1.1 update and found a missing nxcooking.dll was missing (fixed and then found another)

At this point I found 2 different programs that scanned my registry and dlls and each found approximately 150 errors.

Therefore I am planning to reformat all 3 drives and re-install again, and was hoping to find some insight into this problem. Also, would another format install fix this problem or could it be worse/easier to fix?

Please help!

I have no idea what might cause your problem, but...............I would pay little to no attention to whatever errors are reported by a registry scan/fix program. They are notorious for finding "errors" that are meaningless and will find them on a brand new system.

I figured they may be suspect like that (in order to try to get you to buy the software) but I believe some of the reported issues are valid. After I find and install each missing dll another one pops up. Does anyone know of a way to verify what could be missing without having another program finding it?

I also forgot to mention that the physX errors are related to the nvidia drivers being 'supposedly' incompatible with my windows setup. (I'm currently running the same exact setup as before the format/reinstall)

Thanks for a quick response
