Hi,
I made a post about my windows 7 explorer crashing, it seem to only happen when I move files from my internal to my external hard drive. it was still happening, nothing i tried fixed it.but NOW its gotten worse. Its crashing on a loop...every single second.this happens as SOON as I SIGN ON...in seconds it crashing and looping
and I cannot do a thing but use my internet...I get a message that tells me my program
fences (stardock program) has detected that there is problem with 7, and it disables itself, Then windows7 explorer crashes. sends info. then restarts...If I start a video or a program before it closes (which is seconds) then it will run. I have been up for HOURS trying to get this solved. I have NO clue what is going on. I ran Anti-Spyware free edition, found 8 harmful things, had them deleted. I also ran my microsoft essentials...BEFORE that..and it Finds nothing...it NEVER does. but anti does...that confuses me.

SO what is going on? what do I do? PLEASE anyone, I am computer illiterate...
I have windows 7 (genuine)
32bit home premium.
I was tryng to get the rest of the info. but I can't as the explorer is completely locked up as I type this...please help I am so frustrated, I want to make Bill Gates come fix my computer lol...who has his number!?:mad::mad::cry::cry::cry::(:(:sick::sick:

ASLO! After it crashes and re-opens it keeps bringing up the c drive file location library? every single time, so now i have a list of these file locations open...also I JUST get a message saying that my firewall is blocking JAVA, i never got this before now...
I aslo did a windows 7 restore and NOTHING changed... what is going on?

Try disabling Fences in msconfig/startup and reboot... see if you still have problems..

If you are able to get to the safe mode, you can set MSConfig to run next boot with limited startup.

I would try a sfc /scannow from the cmd prompt and see what happens. If not, run a repair install from your windows 7 disc.

Do you have the installation disc for Win7? if so, you can do the following things to try and restore your system:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

If that doesn't help, then you can try to disable the services in MSconfig and see if you can get into Windows long enough to do this:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

Otherwise, if neither of these are working, I think your only other option is to do a custom install. If you do, dont format the drive, you will loose your files.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20146-custom-install-windows-7-a.html

If you do the installation right, your files from your previous installation will be in a Windows.old folder which you can then insert back into your new installation. You will need to re-install all of your programs though: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/16282-windows-old-folder-restore-into-new-installation.html

I recommend only one antivirus, because having two can sometimes cause trouble. MSE is fine for a lot of folks. Some people around here prefer MalwareBytes and Spybot Search and Destroy.

The MSConfig can be set to startup with only the essential things needed for OS. there should be a tab or button that says either limited services or diagnostic startup mode. you can set this in Safe-mode (if you have time to get to the msconfig) and when you restart, you will start in normal windows, but without any of your programs running at startup.

Edit: I think Diagnostics is interactive. it runs during startup to give you the option of what you want to enable.

no problem. we are all here to help. :) If you have to do an install follow my advice about custom install so you dont loose all your data. it will put it in a windows.old folder so you can recover it.

I dont know if a completely clean install (with formating the HardDrive) is necessary in this case, but once you have your data, back it up to another place like USB flash drives or invest in an external harddrive, they are great for backing-up your data. Once your data is backed up to an 2ndary location, if you see problems, you can do a clean install.

If your not really worried about the data on your machine, then do a clean install.

Use the drivers given by the Win7 installer unless performance dictates otherwise, or there are missing drivers.

Did you ever get into msconfig>Startup in Safe Mode to disable the Fences program as it sounds like a poss culprit?

I would run a Repair Install (linked earlier) from the desktop first because it might not be necessary to clean reinstall.

But if you think you are infected then you need to clean the HD before reinstalling: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/52129-disk-clean-clean-all-diskpart-command.html To access the Command Line in Win7 DVD, select Repair My Computer on second screen, then click through to Recovery Tools list. You might also try System Restoring to your earliest restore point there.

Hi I just got back home to try and handle this I am so upset about the customer experience I had with Microsoft....it was the worse. I just wanted to know if I need my product key. I did an online upgrade I can't fins the key I can't keep explorer up long enough to get it. I unstalled fences. I went to safe mode it still crashes I can't get out of safe mode...I'm so frustrated I'm ok my Droid phone cause I know can't get to the internet

hmm. I know you can get the key off the computer using a 3rd party software, but you have to be in Windows to Run it and use it. Did you not get a product key in the email for the download?
