actually I am not monitoring temps with HWM I am using it to check voltage

core temp is the only one that reads temp changes correctly under load and stability test

That's great, Tommy. Everything looks great for you. Look at your VID in core temp. What was it while running IBT? Those temps look real good under that overclock. Very well done. Now if it can take an extended test with Prime ot AIDA, I would say your CPU is excellent. Wish mine were half that good.

Prime maxes out at 77 to 79c IBT maxes at 85c full load

Steve, the newer batches of IB chips seem to have a much lower VID than ours do. I've noticed that looking at a few examples on here.

It stayed here the whole time 1.17

When you are stressing it, what is the range on the VID Tommy? For instance, mine flutters around between 1.2510 and 1.2660. I bet yours, besides being much lower than the older chips, moves around much less as well.

I put the voltages with the benches they were ranging from 1.2696 and flexed to 1.2888 then last flex was 1.2996 those were the voltage flexs if that is what you mean

I meant the VID in Core Temp. What you outlined for Steve. It will fluctuate some as well.

Ok I ran the test again it barley changed to 1.1559 then went back to 1.17 when doing the test it went there for a ms and jumped back the number I said before

I thought when I ran mine that the readings cant be right but apparently the newer chips take less voltage.

It seems they require less voltage and the VID is proportionally lower. Of course, they do have 16+ months worth of making Ivy Bridge chips lol

Seriously though i'm cutting it close because last night we had the AC on I know it might need that 1.304 to really be stable it still passed IBT on that low voltage even I was impressed :shock:

Supposedly, it is a lot more technical than this, but the VID is embedded in the CPU. It basically is what voltage the CPU is asking for at a certain stress and frequency level. Again, a lot more technical than that, but; I don't see how it can be the same at idle as it is when maxed out running IBT at 4.8. That is a very low end laymans explanation, but that shouldn't be possible, as I understand it and from what I've seen from mine. Even though mine is a crappy CPU, when I run IBT it really jumps up there. At idle mine is 0.9657 and during stress testing jumps to 1.2960.

Mine runs about the same at all times, 1.2510-1.2660. Stressing it seems to make it run 1.2660 more often. I don't understand it apparently.

maybe it is my setting I have Ultra LLC enabled

I also edited the CPU from 300 to 350

I pretty much used the exact formula that you gave me but in the beginning I was using fixed voltage

You showed me how to properly use offset so I took all of that into consideration also the higher the LLC the lower the voltages you can use

Mine runs at 0.8256 on idle. after 1 Hour of AIDA64 stress test at 5.0 it ranges from 1.709 to 1.759. I'm not sure you can read this screenshot or not.
