concerned with speedfan readings

Hey guys I am concered about one of my speedfan readings kinda confusing

if you notice all my temps are good except one and it shows Fan speed and the flame symbol on the fan

As you can see my temps are fine on HWmonitor but this little flame here bothers me

I want to make sure it isn't my MB that is too hot or is it just the fan being sick hot from working hard on keeping everything cool

I can add another fan in the mix but i want to know before i start digging around

Well that is the problem in using Speedfan and why I quit using it about 3 years ago. It was always messed up for me.

If it were 127*C something would be on fire.

You have one of the best in CPUID so I would toss Speedfan out the window.

I don't trust Speedfan or HW Info. I know HWInfo is wrong on some things, so I have no reason to trust the other things. I use Core Temp and Real Temp. They have always been accurate for me.

Ok I can trust Both of your Opinions as I know they are very Educated and just out of curiosity I backed my OC back down and it still showed 127c

So i guessing it is just a botched reading because everything else is within spec Thanks again Gentlemen

On Cupid Hardware Monitor check your +12V reading at the top. If that were right I doubt the lights on the board wouldn't come on, much less boot.

I used Speed Fan...for about 10 minutes once. I also had a goofy temp real high but it didn't identify what it was. 127C is 260.6F so solder would be melting.

I find that funny cause this whole machine would be cooking at that temp

Personally I've never had much love for speedfan.

Maybe it's been the consecutive chipsets I've used - but I've always had some pretty hit and miss results over the years.

Another RT/Core Temp preferer here. Aidax64 for a little more detail.

I agree with everyone not worth using SpeedFan

Only reason i have great concern was the fact that i did have a MB go pop a few months back and it was the capacitors under the OC genie but since then i had no issues

Also to that board being burned on that particular parts i still saved my hardware which is a miracle if any from God

Which makes me more cautious setting high clocks

From what I have found Real Temp and Aida64 usually read the same +/-1*.....idling--stressing and everywhere in between.

i tried speed fan for about 2mins but its horrible lol so it soon got removed. now i just use aida64 extreme engineer edition. HWINFO seems to give pretty on the mark readings too

Replaced my Fatal1ty z77 with an ASUS Maximus V Formula. On the ASRock board I needed 1.246v to run @ 4.6GHz. On the ASUS board I only need 1.213v. The offset is the same on both boards +0.030



Temps are way down as a result.

I couldn't get 4.7GHz stable on my ASRock but this ASUS board will do it easily.

Good job Mark. I had an ASRock fataility for AMD, after 4 RMAs they still didn't get it right, it's contaminating a landfill somewhere now.

I'm still running a Fatal1ty 990FX Pro and it's great. It's strange that the exact same thing could happen on both z77 boards. I'm going to RMA it and sell the replacement they send me for cheap.

The 990FX pro is what I threw away. I think it's the Fatality branding. Or ASRock in general.

I won't buy ASRock again. I was tempted to get an OC Formula but I'm glad I got this ASUS board instead.

Just hit 5GHz. Not bench stable yet so I don't have temps

Good job Mark. That board has a lot of UEFI settings to help with stability. Essenbe has the same one I think.
If it runs long enough, validate it at 5.0GHz.
