Oh, this could be a good spot to show the clock-for-clock difference between the SB and Haswell platforms. If you feel up to it, it would be cool to see the SB @ 4.4GHz and Haswell @ 4.4GHz(or whatever OC you can achieve on both). I don't know if RAM frequency needs to be the same, but as long as the RAM speed is noted, we can use it as a variable. Even better would be to see SB vs IB vs Haswell.....same clock speed, same RAM frequency, etc! It's way more trouble than you need to go through Gary, but keep it in the back of your mind if you are fiddling around with Haswell and you can get it to similar speeds as SB, run that benchmark.

Haswell has been running 90 minutes at 4500 on Prime, so I should be able to do that tomorrow, barring forgetfulness.

The Haswell is using half of what I had in the SB so it will be identical. The SB won't run at 4500 though, I think I cooked it too much.

Great! It doesn't have to be at 4.4GHz, hell, it could be at stock speeds for all I care. It's purely academic anyway. I just want to see what % faster Haswell is on the CPU side clock-for-clock. What are your temps running P95 Gary?

Something isn't right, and my guess is that CPU-Z isn't showing the correct voltage. There's no way that little voltage is generating that much heat.

Yeah it doesn't look right. I need another MB, this one does not give enough settings in the BIOS. I'm going to get a liquid cooler first. After that I will move to an ASUS MB.

Wanted to add, I am really happy with this cpu, running at 4.0 it is quite good with my current setup. I have run it higher but dont like the temps. At 4 it plays games only hitting in the upper 60's and 70's. 4.4 I hit the 80's gaming

The 3570K is a beast of a CPU for those of us that don't need hyperthreading.

High was 75C @ 4500.

I noticed that doing consecutive runs on either machine the time got longer each time by several tenths of a second.

I wonder if a reboot between runs would fix that? Those were the results I expected to see to be honest...about a wooden nickels worth of difference.

Yup, rebooting does bring the time back down if I wait 3-4 minute till Windows quits doing boot up housekeeping.
