Punkbuster fix

I was getting pb kicked in cod4 with the 7100 build, I installed the the 7127 build, haven't had any problems since.

In COD 2 it depends on the server's configuration, if the server PB up to date then you will able to play without any API error message. Perhaps better if you update your client PB too.
Because PB updated the Master server configs not the client one.
So try other servers or write me and i give 4 you a IP.
If it not help maybe I h got another tip.

I managed to get COD4 MP running without pb kicks using that tutorial, enjoy: T3CHWORKS Windows7 COD4 P.S: I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate RC (latest version by microsft) x64 This is what you have to do: Install clean installation of COD4 whever JUST NOT IN PROGRAM FILES!!! I installed on my 2nd disk. Install latest cod4 patch (1.7) use pbsetup.exe to update ur punkbuster do exactly what the link above says Congratz, you got COD4 MP great without any kicks on Windows 7 x64

to fix the blank white window in xfire at windows 7, simply open a chat with one of ur friends, write /forceupdate , restart xfire, and enjoy

Hello Good with Windows Seven RC (build 7100) with other build 70XX that did not make it if one plays with plays having protection PUNKBUSTER when one launches a part on line one obtains an error message “unknow API Windows function 131133” in my case (but it seems that the messages can vary)
Thus to succeed in Playing Battlefield 2142 Seven pennies it to not use the mode of compatibility on the .EXE of Battlefield 2142 him even but on the .EXE of PunkBuster!

Mdttb's and Scorpiofr's method shud be the first basic way how one shud try to test the game... i have tried that and it Doesnt work for battle field heroes.. i keep getting error failed to insatll pbsv.. although i have manually installed it from the website
shud i try editing the regkey??
i dont know where to find the registry for punkbuster

They are working on it PB has taken a stance not to support Win7 until its RTM. Which means that you might get it to work here and there. They have information posted on their page about it they wont take any emails about 7 or issues with it. So its a wait and see factor.
I myself have gotten bf2/2142 to work on 7127 with out any hacks but the servers PB needs to be updated too just like your copy of PB its a try, try, try until you find a server that works.

well.. i got bf heroes working...
its official.. bf heroes and its punkbuster is compatible with win7
i just had to run the internet explorer as admin.. thats all
basically that means install pb as admin..

i dont know how or what but i got battlefield 2142 working full punkbuster no mods no bull**** it just works..
they had some updates when i updated windows 7 rc with windows update i did all the updates and whala it freking works finally ...yay

works for 64 bit also...
just that u need to adittionaly locate the 3pb files..as i said before..
from syswow64 folder..and run thm as admin..

OK this works for some games in Windows 7 apparently only on 32bit. No Guarentees
with some credit to HowieDouglas

Solution.
-Open RUN
-Type in Services.msc
-Find PnkbstrA & PnkBstrB
in the second tab over on the top tick "Allow service to interact with desktop"
-close Services
-Go to game shortcut
-Properties
-Compatibility tab
-Tick the box "Run as Administrator"
-Download the attached file
-Right click -> Properties
-Compatibility ->"Run As Admin"
-Run the .exe
-Run Game

PNKBSTR BUSTED

EDIT: Works on 32 bit, not 64x. I'll update once I can find a solution to 64x

Yeah In gameplay it just sends me off with a window displaying "PunkBuster" and an OK button. Had the same problem in Vista 32 in the first few months, but punkbuster usually fixes itself eventually with the auto-update

Since windows seven changes for no reason and games stop working ie pnkbuster kicks etc
U can do this
Once you get it working properly
Use rdrive image and make an image of your partishon
Then if it starts screwing up like it frequently does
Then you can just restore it
This works better then system restore becase it totally re writes everything down tithe last bit on that partishon services files everything will befixed
It takes my
Machine 8 minutes to restore am image and be back on destop
It's small price to pay for a guranteed fix

I've been playing CoD4 and BF since I got the RC and no kicks. I never even tweak anything.
I'm using the 64-bit version of Windows 7...

I'm also using 64 bit
I did not have to adjust anything
With rc using 32 bit it did not work at all
I have intel core 2 quad q6600 samsung 37in lcd hdtv rampage formula 4 gigs kenisgton hyperx spinpoi t f1 1t
Hd4870dk 1 gig Asus sonar d1
Maybe it's my hardware that makes the issue dunno
But 64 bit works I'm going to buy this os asap LOL
