Hi
As long as the new m/b supports your cpu (am3) it should not be a problem. The new am3+ boards will be backwards compatable with am3 cpu's.But you can always
check the m/b makers site for to be sure.

Darksideekei,
Welcome to SF. Just wondering what you're looking for in a new mobo as your listed ASUS is a very nice board?

It's not liquid glue. It's thermal paste. It's purpose is to ensure that you get full contact from your CPU to your heatsink. So, if either of them is not completely 100% flat, the paste will fill this teeny, tiny discrepancy and ensure that they make 100% full contact.

darksidekei,
I would wait for the processor to hit and let the market respond with it's second generation mobo as your current combo is well up to the task of gaming and computing. Otherwise consider a second systems worth of components so you can mix and match the two systems and have two banging systems or sell off the lesser when done. Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and don't mind paying launch prices to just see the technologies improve and prices drop within 10-15 minutes....lol, then go for it !

I didn't mean to sound harsh, I just think that good things often come with just a bit of patience. Let the earliest adopters work the kinks out and then pounce after a good shop. Remember that a wise choice on the mobo will hopefully last at least one or two CPU upgrades before retiring.

Let the earliest adopters work the kinks out

Good advice.

I'm a little guilty of early adoption and personally I'm over watching the improved revisions come out at substantially cheaper prices.

OP, your specs are good enough to allow you to wait until the revisions are out and the prices settle.

Being updated is over rated.
