Random black and blue screens.

My computer has these phases when it crashes about 5-10 times a day with the same way. The monitor turns black and GPU coolergoes to 100%. Only thing I can do is hard reset the computer. I finally managed to get a bluescreen about it Ahh finally got the minidump attached here. I've tried an alternative GPU and watching the temps on both CPU and GPU all the time and there is nothing wrong with the temps. The monitor just suddenly goes black and gets the fan speed at 100%. Tried to reinstall windows tens of times, but nothing seems to help. Sometimes it's stable as rock and I can play BF3, Crysis, BFBC2 and Witcher 2 on ultra for hours on end and the computer is stable. Sometimes it's just when I'm idling and surfing the internet and talking to friends on steam etc it crashes. Sometimes I can't even get to windows login screen without the computer crashing. Still haven't found a sure way to make to computer crash and it seems to be completely random. Help would be appreciated. AS I've said I've reinstalled windows and all drivers tens of times, I've changed my mobo which was faulty but the same problem came back. I'm thinking it's either the GPU, MOBO, CPU or my PSU. But I really don't have the money to get this checked since it's like 50 euros an hour and they might not even get it to crash when I can't find an exact situation where it would crash. I hope the blue screen minidump helps something.

It is much easier to find patterns, etc, when there are more than one crash.

We prefer you wait until you have at least two so that if one is corrupt the other probably wont be.



I would start by removing Avast and updating to sp-1


Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Just upgraded windows 7 to SP1. The problem with the bluescreens is that I only get em once in a blue moon. The monitor usually just goes black and the GPU fan spins at top speed. I can usually hear the music/game voices etc for about 5-40seconds before they shut down. Then there is no response and I restart the computer. This is the only blue screen I've gotten from maybe dozens of crashes in the past few months. The windows I'm on is brand new install and only got all the basic drivers etc. I'll try uninstalling avast and using the windows one for a while maybe tomorrow or so. The interesting thing about these crashes is, that they usually come one day and happen a dozen time or so and then suddenly go away with no apparent reason. It's really driving me mad.
