Random freezes, 0x9c

Hello, I have a problem with random freezes, they've been happening mostly when the PC is idle, for example I leave my PC alone for half an hour, come back and the screen is black, I can hear my PC running but can't wake it up.. After rebooting I can see an error in the event viewer that shutdown at 8:00PM was unexpected even though it's 8:30PM already. Other times I'm watching a movie, pause it to grab a bite when I come back the PC is already frozen. It started happening right after I installed my system on wednesday, haven't had this issue before. There are no dump files created from when it froze but once I had a BSOD with 0x9c. I've been doing some testing today with Intel Burn Test and Windows Memory Diagnostic but both came back fine, now I'm leaving my PC for the night running a memtest scan but I would put my money on a software issue since it started with installing a new copy of Windows, previous installation didn't have this problem. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

/edit: after a little over 6 hours memtest still came back with no errors.

You only had one dump and that blames your Intel Processor driver Driver Reference Table - intelppm.sys

Check the intel site to see if you can find an updated driver.

Hello,
did you perhaps mean chipset drivers? I updated those, must have missed them after setting up the system. I don't think there are any separate drivers for processors though..
