Hello again- I believe something is seriously wrong with my computer. My windows 7 disk won't boot up for repair. It's stuck at the loading screen for hours until i get impatient and shut it off.

any possible causes for the repair disk to not load?

I think the disk is fine- other disks such as linux live CD's won't fully load either. The loading bar for the windows repair goes about 1/10 of the way before stopping. Disks appear to be read just fine from within windows.

I'm not too sure what else I could say. :(

If it won't boot anything, including linux live, you could try cleaning the optical drive. If you can boot off the usb, this again would point to the drive. I guess memory could be an issue as well.

How do you clean the optical drive, that's the issue?

and if it is memory? I assume that would be a more complicated fix.

No, it's very easy to install memory. Go to crucial.com to let it help you select the correct memory (I like their site).
When you install the memory, be careful handling it, be grounded, holding the sticks on the edges. You can refer to your documentation to see if you install pairs, and if so, if it's 1-3, or 2-4.

**EDIT** Looks like your L350 has two slots, so no problems.

just did some tests. My repair disk makes a full load when I use it on a virtual machine. So the disk and CD Drive must be okay.

I'm not sure if this is related to the problem but my computer won't let me make a partition more then 9 GB when I have 100+ to spare.

Okay, here's the hard drive diagnostic tool that will work on a Toshiba HD: http://sdd.toshiba.com/techdocs/fjdtwin.exe

You might need to run it in compatibility mode since I saw no mention of Windows 7 on that page. Good luck. :)

You are probably doing it right. From my understanding on the Toshiba website, I thought that they were rebranded Fujitsu drives... Perhaps not in your case.

The computer I'm on does have a Fujitsu drive...

If you can't get the tool to work correctly, try the tools from Seagate & Western Digital (a link found in my earlier post should get you there)
