I have read countless threads and websites on this problem. I still can't get mine to work. I type in a web address and it just tells me server not found. What do i do? I am told i have wireless and internet connection. Internet explorer chrome and firefox (uninstalled now because i thought it was the problem). I need to talk with someone anyone out there?
Hello and welcome sixohh mate some system specs please as we do need to know what we are working with do this System Info - See Your System Specs and/or simply fill out the specs in your profile we can go from there.
Now it seems to me at first glance that you have a connection problem even though it is telling you you have one but without knowing the above we cannot help much at all. At least try rebooting the modem or whatever you are using to connect to the net. It begs the question how did you get onto this site - another machine??

Yes, I am here via another laptop. I have windows 7 and i think it's 64 bit. I've had this problem for a year. I've rebooted uninstalled reinstalled changed ip's. I don't know how to get you anymore specs than that. I cant run that program on my broken computer because it wont connect to the internet. Ill probably just have to pay someone. Thanks
Ok, I've been wearing out google. I've found something that said I needed to start in safe mode with networking. I did that and I have access. The recommendation is to start deleting programs until the problem is fixed.
Ok mate well done because I was going to advise that you at least try safe mode.
I personally would be running these while the machine is up and running well SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary
NB SFC best run for about three scans
I would also update any drivers to do with LAN and WLAN too now not knowing what model machine you have I cannot direct you - suffice to say use only the makers site for drivers those aftermarket driver softwares are at best painful naggers and at worst your worst nightmare.
