ok so when i shutdown the computer hangs up then 10mins later the BSOD comes up with "Driver State Power Failure" or something. looking at the dump file it says vwifibus.sys so i check my wireless drivers(Atheros Ar5b91) and updated them and the same thing happens.
Also i tried disabling the firewall in Vipre to see if that was causing a conflict. And i ran the driver verifier and it just keeps BSOD.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 32bit
- the original installed OS on the system? Windows Vista Home Premium
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail

- What is the age of system (hardware)? ~2 Years
- What is the age of OS installation? ~1 year Windows 7 Professional

Driver Verifier will cause a BSOD each time it encounters a faulty driver. That is how it is supposed to work. The dumps it triggers can point to the offending driver. Uninstall Vipre completely. Download and install Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Vipre. Vipre is a known cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place. Disabling it will not work. Many third party antivirus and firewall programs cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems.

vwififlt.sys is a Windows driver and very likely not the real cause of the crash. Something is probably interfering with vwififlt.sys and that could be Vipre. Another possible cause is Sunbelt Personal Firewall. Use Revo Uninstaller and remove this firewall. Make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.

Out of date drivers can and do cause conflicts, memory corruption and BSOD's. You have outdated drivers loaded on your system. The one in red font are really out of date. Some are XP drivers. Software and hardware designed for XP and not updated for win 7 will not run with Win7. Update or eliminate the following drivers.

How to find drivers -
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box above. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page:
Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page:
Drivers and Downloads
If you need help with the drivers, please post.

Thank you, Lemur. :)

Rellsun, Good job with Viper. Don't neglect updating or eliminating those old drivers. They will come back to bite you. And I would ditch the Sunbelt Firewall, too.
