Almost every time I open my laptop after it has been in sleep mode, it's always slow. I try opening google chrome and it doesn't open and it usually pops up within seconds. Everything just just gets so slow and it gets so slow that I even have to shut it down manually by pushing the button. I hate doing that though. I just looked at my performance information and it does have a list of two items that are causing it to be slow after its been in sleep mode and I don't know if I should uninstall them or not. Sleep mode is almost always related to the Display driver so make sure you've got the latest, starting with running all Important and Optional Windows Updates, after enabling Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware (Step 3).

If nothing comes up then go to the Dell Support Downloads webpage for your tag number.

In addition check over these other Sleep Mode Problems - Vista Forums

If these steps don't lead to a resolution, you can always find out exactly what's happening by Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace - Windows 7 Forums
