Oh, then that makes a bit more sense.

Still, I wouldn't push that temp too much.

I haven't tried doing anything with my laptop because the BIOS won't let me. However regarding heat and this is just a tip, my ThinkPad X300 which is thin and light, got so hot over the past year that I could not put it on my lap. I was using a pillow and then a laptop lap desk thingy turned backwards so that not only did it not sit on my lap but it also had air circulating under it....still hot as hell and the fan still running.

I finally got out a can of air and blew out the fan area (didn't take anything apart) and it was like a miracle. I am shocked at what a difference it made. I was just about to call tech support before the warrantee expires. It barley gets warm now and is back on my lap.

I know I"m digging up an old thread. But, maybe someone can offer some assistance.

I'm trying to overclock my Q6600 it's one of the "go" models. MY problem is when I enter settings others with Asus P5N-D have and I save and exit. My pc goes to a black screen and freezes. The power button on the front of my case doesn't even turn off the pc. I have to hit the switch on the back.

I'm trying to overclock to 3.6 if possible. Would settle for 3.4ghz. The reason for the overclocking is I just ordered a GTX 560 ti and was told my current 2.4 ghz speed will bottleneck.

Thanks in advance.
