Hi guys,

I been having this issue for a couple of months now, and before doing anything crazy I been trying to find what's causing it, or what strange things it been doing. At first I thought it was kaspersky eating up my resources and recently with the help of Process Explorer I found what the issue presenting.

During the usage of the computer it tends to freeze or lag, or a couple of minutes, then it returns to it's usual pace. I thought sometimes cause the games I been playing are way to heavy for the laptop, but I found out it wasn't. Recently, while playing FFXIV, which is a heavy game for my laptop, I know it can run it fine, since when I got it back at september I could play without trouble, recently I went in to check it out, every 5 mins the system lagged or freeze for 1 min then let me play without trouble; during one of the lags I got the chance to switch screen to the process Explorer, and found out that the CPU usage instead of being used on the game, it went back to the System Idle, thus making the system lag. Any idea why is it being done?

I know I had the win 7 installed a year ago, and many I heard recommend a full format, I want to avoid it, due to the game installations, and trying to find another solution before doing this. I also read about a repair installation. I defragment, virus scan, cclean, and scan disk my laptop, at least once every month, if not more, so it should be working fine. This issue I had it for a couple of months, it happens every 15 mins to 30 mins, sometime more frequent, the worst being when playing FFXIV.

So I did what you suggested on that thread, only thing left is the repair install. Question about it, since I did the SP1, how do I get a disc of SP1? or can I use the original disc I have?

What faizan mentioned, I do that at least once a month, part of my maintence program.

When trying to integrate the SP1 it shows me a error saying "Data invalid", any idea? or do I post on the slipstream thread?

I would, as that is where those issues are being hashed out.

So I finally managed to do the repair install, and apparently nothing, I still have the eventual spikes. I read the thread that you first post, did the turning off some unneeded services, and still nothing. With the repair install all security patches where reinstall, so we can take out that from a maybe error install, I have a nvidia card, so is not the intel driver.

Any extra information I could post that could help finding an error?
