I've had trouble with my machine starting. I've done all the advice the 7 Forum suggests, running start up 3 times...etc and it will work for a day or two, then not start. Then if I hit the reset button a couple of times, it will go into the start up repair and I end up with this message:
Repair Action/ System files Integrity check and repair
Result Failed / Error code = 0x490
Time Taken / 700863 ms
I've run sfc from an elevated window and it says everything is fine.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to SF,

Firstly Im no expert on BSOD but I maybe able to point you in the right direction.

Both crashes are relating to your DirectX Graphics MMS

BugCheck 50
Could not read faulting driver name
Probably caused by : dxgmms1.sys

DirectX Graphics MMS which is a windows update. (check to see if windows update has updated this?)

Have you recently updated your graphics drivers?

I would suggest that you roll any ATI Graphic drivers back if recently updated by yourself? Or check Windows Updates for DirectX.

But first you will need to get the computer started, have you tried a system restore from Safe-mode to before the problem began? May help you get up and running.....choose Option 2 from the following link:

Good luck and post back any progress

Cheers

Dave
