User Permissions Standard user

Hey,

I just wanted to know whether its possible for a standard user to be abe to install programs/apps on their account. Basically im the admin and have a password on my account. I want to create another user for everyone to use and allow them to install programs, however i dont want them to be able to access my files or folders through the C:/Users section, is this possible to do?

I know you can stop them seeing your files and folders if they have a standard account,but they cant install anything.

Oh so i can make them admin, but make the permissions to my files private, right?

Can someone explain this for me, the tutorial above is for everyone. When i deny it, it changes it for everyone. including me, so i cant access my own files.

How many accounts do you have now?

Guest does not count. Make another account the way you plan. Then check the tutorial.
Guest is not standard. There are guest accounts, Adm accounts and standard accounts.

Sorry if i sound confusing, i made the account guestuser, i know you have a default guest account. But ive made a standard account the normal way and have named it GuestUser.

For step 6 can i enter the objectname as GuestUser? and then it should allow me to set permissions for that user?

I have given you two other leads. Try them. This does work, I have done it. If you have a problem, we can go step by step.

Thanks i got a problem now :$ I cant install anything, i get an error about appdata, ive got some padlock icons next to some folders, any idea how i can fix this? :\ or shall i remake an account?

Yeah thanks it fixed. Yeah please, if we can do it step by step that would be very helpful.

For example, my Admin account is called Namenone and the standard user account is called homeaccount

Read the section on giving permissions. Dont do anything just read it and make sure you understand. You can go through the motions on your screen without changing any of the settings, just to be sure what you see on the screen is the same as you see in the instructions.

Ok you mentioned that before, you seem to think that by changing permissions for others it effects you, too. Let me read over the document that I gave you and try to explain it so we do not need system restore, again.

Whats your name, Im Richard. Do you see this picture. One section gives the accounts and others (system) that can have permission. You do one at a time. Give each account permissiion. When you get to your account you give all the permissions. You understand this. Go find that screen on your computer and make sure they look the same.. Dont do anything yet.
