Vista to 7 Upgrade--Slow Boot up Time

The title pretty much explains it all. I upgraded from Vista to 7 and I noticed my boot up time is very slow. I went ahead and tried the "time your windows 7 boot up" and apparently takes 194 seconds for my computer to boot.

I was thinking maybe if I did a clean install instead of just an upgrade that 7 would work faster but I wanted to know if that would actually be the case before reformatting.

trust me, do a clean install. i had those problems (even check out my topics i posted in the past about slow boot up times)
here are the reasons to cause boot up times

-antivirus programs (i recomment MSE free and doesnt eat up boot up time)
-upgrading from vista takes all files from vista to 7
-soooo many start up files

so doing a clean install really helps. it helped me.
lucky i paid $90+tax for OEM (which is also a FULL version of windows 7)

What did you find was the most efficient way to do a clean install after already having Windows 7 on your computer? I have the Student Version of Windows 7.

im still trying to get a $30 price for windows 7 for my desktop LOL
anyways
-well just put the cd in ur pc/laptop (while its on)
-then turn it off or boot it up from there (i did the the first option)
-for option one, press boot options and select dc/dvd drive
-then do custom install
-then select a partition (mainly the main active partition with the current OS)
-click advanced options and erase your partitions
-then create a partition and set how much memory you want to have on that particular partition.
-then install it and wait about 40-50 minutes (too me about 40 minutes)

and waalah! you now freshly installed windows 7

u still have the product key? save that and download an ISO or however u going to get windows 7 data
