What's the Best Anti-virus?

Here is the best solution to prevent any and all virus and hack attempts I've found.

The good thing is that its 100% guaranteed to work for everyone, without the need for any additional software.

First, Shutdown your computer.

Next, look on the back of your PC and locate a small cable that looks like the one in the picture below.
View attachment 176973

As illustrated, push in on the retaining clip, and gently remove it from the PC.
Please be careful you do not damage anything.

Now start up your PC and you are good to go.

No need for any extra programs, you are 100% gaurnteed to be safe from Internet nasties.
Please note, that by reconnecting this cable, you will again be vulnerable.

Hope this helps.

:p

:haha:

Thank you Wishmaster! This is the only way to avoid badware from the web. Used to be that Macs were impervious, then IE8 and Linux distros. The fact is that if any PC is connected to the net it is vulnerable. The reason Mac and Linux users have a misplaced sense of security is that Windows machines outnumber all others by a few magnitudes so are a richer/easier target for those engaged in nefarious-ness.

Oh, I vote for Norton Intenet Security. I've used it for 5 years with no hiccups and it is light on resources.

I have to say Ive been very happy with NIS myself.

I know there are many that simply do not like it, but I personally have no decision to make.
I will certainly be renewing my sub for the 3rd year straight soon :)

Norton used to have a poor reputation. But now, I find their products very good, installs in under a minute. Also, their Firewall is ver nice.

I used to use NIS myself but I wanted more control over my Firewall. I strongly recommend Norton.

After many years of using many different security tools & suites etc. I am now using Kaspersky Internet Security and I find it to be one of (if not) the best. I'm a Technician and I work in a small repair shop and it's the only AV we sell as it's the only one that we've ever sold and never had the customers back in with Viruses. Eset Products are also very good and I'd say on par with Kaspersky. Avira AntiVir is also a suitable option especially if you are after a free AV. I used Avast for several years and I was very fond of it until all of a sudden it dropped in detection rates and started detecting more false positives, but it's still better than AVG or Norton which are the biggest problem causing and resource intensive AV Solutions out there at the moment. Trend Micro isn't all the great in my opinion but it's still much better than the latter 2 i mentioned. Bullguard isn't that effective with very poor detection rates. Panda is abysmal! I could go on forever but I won't, I've passed on my opinion and you can get a Kaspersky License for between £2.99 & £20.00 on Ebay depending on the version i.e. AV is cheaper than IS and the 2009 is cheaper than 2010 or 2011 and all licenses will work with 2012 :D Hope that helps someone :D

I've been using Avast and Malwarebytes for years. If there is something that Avast can't remove, Malwarebytes gets it. I always recommend MBAM to my friends if they ever get a really bad infection and so far it's always managed to clean up their systems without trouble at all.

Despite it being free, it's really a wonderful little tool to have even if you already have a native antivirus. Or you can just put it on a thumb drive. :)

ESET NOD32 Antivirus offers a month free protection or a year protection for $30.

All my systems stick to ESET NOD32 or any of ESET's security software.

I know lots of you use AVG or avast! but when you have the chance get NOD32.

I preffer NOD32 and have had no other antivirus ever. :geek:

Lol i'm using an old PC what I can say is

Avira slows down the start-up of the computer
Norton Internet Security is the best ! but :S it gives me DPC Latency spikes while surfing
Kasperksy just sucks bad detection (and a huge resource hog)
Avast good ! the code emulation is slowing down programs so if you turn that off it's a great AV and i'm using this one ATM
And :s Microsoft Security Essentials sucks constant 30% CPU and it blocks on me when it try's to remove a virus

Now everone has its own choice :)
