The DDR in DDR3 stands for Double Data rate. 2 X 665.2 = ~1333

You put the specs, where did you get that number from? Maybe the 2GB dimm was 1066MHz? It doesn't match the CPU-Z snip you posted. I don't see any problem. You have 8GB in dual channel and 18+K now. Soon as you get a 4th matching 4GB dimm, you can install all 4, and hopefully improve more :)

And I don't know why the frequency is so low posted about it awhile ago but didn't get an answer

I edited my last post, it's because the BIOS will adjust the RAM frequency to the specs of the lowest card, to keep from damaging it.

More info on Dual vs Single channel from your motherboard manual.

MSI PH67A C43 mobo RAM.PNG

Your previous CPUZ memory tab says 665.2 MHz, which is 1330MHz actual RAM frequency.
It has to be something to do with the 2GB card.
If you want to investigate further, install the 2GB card and post the CPUZ SPD tab for it.

It is probably the board specifications, it states:
In Dual-Channel mode, make sure that you install memory modules of the same type and densty in dfferent channel DIMM slots.
It doesn't like the different 2GB RAM card, must have different density chips.

Errr what about me! I'm running DDR3 1333Mhz and have even worse specs at 7350 MB/s. I'm running 2 pairs of matched corsair sticks. 1 pair of 4gb sticks (slots 1+3) and 1 pair of 2gb sticks (slots 2+4). 12 gb total.

Any advice on how I can improve my mem speed??
Many thanks in advance.

First, why don't you clicl my system specs in the lower left corner of your post and edit specs. List all hardware so we can know how best to help. But I suspect that the 2, 2GB sticks are hurting your scores.

The 2 ram gurus are A Guy and Dave76. They will be here soon. But you can run mixed pairs with some difficulty, but it is always best to run matched sets.

The RAM slots are paired up differently on different motherboards. What does your motherboard manual say about it?

Also, lots of boards are touchy about using six slots. My housemate has an ASUS P6T which drops the memory bandwidth if all six slots are used. She's running three 2GB sticks in triple-channel mode. My board is also running 3 X 2GB in triple-channel but also has a funky 4th slot if I want to drop down to dual-channel. No 5th and 6th slot for me at all. Then I had an old MSI board with what were apparently color-coded RAM slots. Good thing I read the manual because it turned out that the colors had no relation to the actual channel configuration at all.

So the colors are meaning less OMG i should shift my ram over to a odd color slot then err.... why do they do this then turn around and abandened the idea  meaning my MSI board to classify

I took out the 2x2gb set and re-ran winsat.

Strangely the speed only went up to 7400 MB/s (from 7350 MB/s), so it doesn't seem to be that.
