Why can't I do a clean install?

Wait it out, I really think you have a hardware problem somewhere that has put all this into
really slow mode.

the light on the screen is orange, i push the button and it goes green then back to orange and says "no signal" like when i used to turn it off

hardware issues, like something is wronf with the MB? Or something else

It's almost like the computer has gone into sleep or hibernate mode

What if you move the mouse arround or tap the spacebar a few times ?

Wierd..
Just got the dvd out of the dvd driver thingy and now the screen turned back on and is at the same spot (completing installation)
could this be a sign? Hmmm

Oh the mouse moving/clicking or keyboard typing didnt do anything but the opening of the dvd drive did!

About a month ago it took me 12 hours to image a 80gb laptop drive to an ext HD, & then reinstall to a new 250gb HD. But it worked perfectly when finished.

computers are so unpredictable sometimes. Like now! I was on xbox or 15 mins and went to check up on my comp and i walk in to "wimdows is starting up" with the logo.. Good thing you told me to wait it out lol

Hmm okay i think i figured it out. "windows will restart several times during this process" is what the disc says during installation. Since it takes forever for the disc to respond on my comp, i thnk that when the screen "turns off" it is really restarting but taking forever to do so.. So thts why the screen turns off

At this point you should not need the install disc in the drive anymore

Yeah it's been out since i first opened it
i'm getting really excited lol. Week and a half of 6+ hours a day working on this
i'm sure you all have done more but this is amazing for me

After we get a working win7 going we need to check out some of your hardware to see if everything is okay. CPU-Z & Software Information for Windows are 2 good items to run some info tests.

As of now, my comp has restarted 3 times in 15 mim intervals, but it keeps going back to the "windows staring up" screen then screen turns off. I think i'm not making any progress :/

Should i restart completely with the win7 disc and do a startup repair?


EDIT- just got "windows is starting up for first time use" but was in safe mode so it wouldnt "finish" went to start windows normally and got the normal start up with logo rhen usual blank screen

Wtf??

I start windows normally and it FINALLY goes to "setup is preparing for computers first use" but then reboots. When it reboots i hear a screachy sound come from within the case

What does this mean?

Does this MB have a VGA connector on it , on the back so you can connect to that & remove the graphics card from the computer completely. Do so when it is turned OFF !

According to your specs I believe this is your MB. I don't see an onboard video connector So now we need the Make & model of your video card to find the right drivers.

I meant to edit and say display driver, not graphics card. Tje BSOD went by way to fast foe me to remember but then it did it a second time and i barely had enough time to write down the problem

so display driver, whatever that is
