I've been trying to upgrade my windows 7 that was upgraded from vista for the past 3 days.

and it keeps failing with the same reason repeatedly, throwing the error code 0x8007001f – 0x20006. "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during REPLICATE_OC operation"

I've looked up that code and google brought back Windows 10 Update keeps failing with error 0x8007001f - 0x20006

So I've done every thing that's on there, except the clean boot. And still it fails with the same error code. every time.

I've even downloaded the setup files on to a sd card and tried installing it from there. yet still the same problem.

windows update troubleshooter mentioned on that page does detect the error, but it gives no means to fix it.
here's the screencap

any tips on how to proceed?

update on my problem.

nothing i looked up worked. i've spent 4 days on trying to upgrade my windows 7 to windows 10.

then i came across this webpage SOLUTION: Windows 10 upgrade failure 0x8007001F – 0x20006 | Triple-S Computers Blog – Louisville, KY computer repair specialist

basically repair install the windows 7 using the dvd installer which i had from my previo0us upgrade from vista. that was last night. it installed overnight.

i've reentered the key to activate windows 7. and then without downloading any of the updates for the windows 7, started installing windows 10 loaded on my my microsd card. that was this morning.

i had to crt alt del once because it got stuck during installation because i messed up the date and time and set it to dec 12, 2019. because my computer froze up right when i was at the date and tiem page. it flashed and went into windows 7. so i didn't noticed the wrong date.

after i fixed the date, the windows installation 10 went smooth. slow as hell but surely it finished.

it's currently opening the edge browser. which i'll have to fix from loading as default.

all in all, the only thing worked was repair installing the windows 7 prior to installing windows 10;

hope that helps others who are having the same problems.

Glad to hear you worked it out.

Quite often a repair install is the easiest way to go if you have hive/registry corruptions.
As you are now aware it reinstall a fresh version of win7 and keeps all you programs and personal stuff.
Have to reinstall the updates
simplex or DISM++ installs almost all of them with no restarts as M$ win update does.
