Use the one with Full permissions - just put a tick in the 'replace all child...' box and click Apply, OK out

You're surrently dealing with the 'Avg' Key
you will also need to do it for the 'Avg Secure Search' key - and any others that throw similar errors.

When I check the 'Replace all child objects...', and 'apply' then this Windows Security window pops up, if I check 'Yes' the check is removed from the 'child...'. If I check 'No' on this Windows Security I have the same result!:confused:
I have run the AVG removal program but the Registry has remained unchanged.:cry:

It may just be me :) - the checkmark will always dsappear when you reopen the page (it's a command, not a status).

Again - highlight the Administrators entry in the Advanced window
Now click the Edit button
Change the 'Apply to', to read 'This key and subkeys'
may sure tehre's a tick in 'Full Control/Allow'
Click OK
put a tick in the 'Replace all child...' box and click OK out

Close regedit, and try AVG Remover again.

I changed the permissions on Avg and AVG Secure Search and ran the AVG removal tool.
On rechecking the Registry, the changes I made re: ‘This key and subkeys’ had remained but unfortunately the Registry has not changed at all.

Suggestion: If plan A doesn't work go to plan B; Safe Mode. I have also seen parts that won't remove because they are still active in Services and have to be stopped first.
If I'm getting in the way just tell me to leave.

Once you get AVG out of the way you and Noel can have fun getting your computer back to genuine. If you still have problems with removing AVG I still have a few things that might help.

I note from the report that you may actually have a problem running it - there's a mention of 'maximum number of runs reached'

we'll see...

I think we may as well go for manual removal of the Key - but you need to make a backup first.

1) create a new System Restore point
2) Open Regedit and find the Avg entry again - right-click on it, and select Export
Export it as a .reg file called AVGMain
3) find the Avg Secure Search entry, and Export that as AVGSSearch.reg

upload the two exported files as attachments to a reply here
wait for instructions to carry on.

You are correct, in safe Mode the AVG removal tool would not run for the 5 times though I did re-start 5 times. As soon a I returned to normal operation the AVG tool then requested the 5 re-starts. I have attached the log again.
The registry has not changed from before But also I notice there are some large AVG files in C/Program Data/
There is AVG @ 12.3MB and AVG Secure Search @ 1.78MB. This AVG removal tool does not appear to remove anything?

I have run that before but I will try again. That's great as the licence number AVG supplied me was for AVG 2013 AV and that was what I was told it was?:confused:

All I can say is that the Key content are headed AVG2012 - it may be that you installed a 2012 trial/free and then upgraded to 2013.

Obviously I take your word for this but I was informed that this was the new AVG 2013, I did not run a trial first. Anyway I have run the AVG 2012 removal tool and there does not appear to be any changes, the registry is the same and the Program Data files are still there.

That's very disappointing!

OK- since the standard tools have failed, we first need to download a nifty program called Revo Uninstaller, from Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall install it, and use its options to force an uninstall of all things AVG (I believe Layback Bear has more detailed knowledge of this tool than I do - wanna take over for this, Jack?)

I've only ever used this program once, and that was a previous version, so I'll have to play a little if you want detailed instructions.
