Windows 7 Clean Install constant shut down

Well you do have sp1 media already so now that the first update is installed just move to the second.

Not sure why you would need to use clean boot
Nothing should be installed before the 2 manual installed updates and then all Important only updates.

That means No third party security.... yet.

With that system summery you posted you can use that information to correct your system spec's page

Could you please confirm with what you mean in regards to the updates?
I am required to install the two following manually - correct ?

Win-7-3020369 - 64
Win-7-3172605 64

Then turn on search for updates and install all important updates.

I am just a little confused - as I said feel silly downloading incorrect selection on website and have been googling instead of an individual scenario case.

Next time I know where my specs are located. Thanks for assisting me in learning.

Yes what you posted is correct
these settings will remove any recommended updates from being mixed into the Important section


Just Uncheck the box outlined in red.

I am sorry - I will try and inform you more in depth.

I have not been that well.

I have attempted the loading of the two download that you have recommended. I keep going through the same error message as above.
I also attempted the other day - it would not install - searched for updates and error 0X8024001E.

I must be silly not being able to have it install.

I then did option number 3 - Reset the Windows 7 Updates - attempted Updates again.

I am so sorry. I will post over in the updates section as I read in the rules.

Try this
Try using this to reset the update system it's very good,
Use Option 2 on the list after right clicking it and select run as administrator

Download it to your downloads folder
Right click it and select Extract all to the downloads folder.
Then right click ResetWUEng and select run as administrator
Follow the rest of the prompts

Press any key to continue
Type 2 for that Option on the list and the Enter key to reset update services..
Press y for Yes and then the Enter key I believe twice
After it has completed
Type 15 for that option and the Enter key to restart the machine.
Should say will restart in 60 seconds save your work.... press any key to continue.
After restart go to windows updates and manually check for updates shouldn't take a few minutes.
