Hi to all,

I updated my windows 7 32-bit machine but after some restarting now it doesn't start up. That is it doesn't show the desktop screen. I tried to repair it using Start up Repair but it can't fix the problem. I also tried the following command in "system recovery options" > command prompt:
X:\Sources>bootrec /fixmbr
and
X:\Sources>bootrec /fixboot
but no changes occurred.
Any idea to fix that?

Thanks in advance.

Try shutting it OFF completely. Then unplug the machine for about half a minute. Then plug it in and restart. Sometimes that will bring up a boot screen.

If that works, either return to a point on the drive where things were working OK or repair, if the repair option has returned.

If that doesn't work it looks like a fresh install may be required. And if you still haven't got the mentioned options the others have given you who are trying to help, and still have a black screen when you restart your computer, remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard, being careful to ground yourself to the computer frame before touching the battery. After a few seconds put the battery back in place. You should now be able to put your Operating System CD in and re-install. Remember, if your saved files are in the same partition as your current Operating System you will lose all that data when you reinstall. I can't see a way to avoid that, other than taking your computer to a computer shop for repair. They may be able to fix and recover data too. :)

Thank you very much "Shabakthanai";

I re-installed the Windows 7 and put the updating source files into a flash memory and updated the OS by that flash. This time no problem occurred so I guess the before problem had to do with that I put those source into a folder on the desktop. My method for updating is offline update by some tool.
PS: I sometimes become very surprised why Windows is such vulnerable.

This way I can update the OS in a short time. It's more comfortable I think.
