Windows 7 sounds disappear.

I have a similar problem .My sounds dissapear when I put my PC to sleep and after wakeup sound is gone.Also games and videos are lagging in a silly way and no sound at all.
When I try to adjust the sound from the corner(bottom right corner speaker icon) then the sound bar( the green one) moves like in slow motion....

Look at Task Manager. If svchost.exe is using lots of CPU, then I think there's a problem with your sound drivers.
