Solved Windows fails to boot

I have tried recovery discs, but no success. The computer is a 32-bit version, it has 4GB of RAM just because a 2GB chip was available for me to use. The PC hasn't been running for long with this issue, but is now at the point where it won't boot at all.

I have downloaded a version of Windows 7, an ISO file, I followed advice from one of the above comments.
I put in the disc to try and start the setup, but when it gets to the bit that says "Expanding Files" it gets to about 86% and comes up with this message:
WINDOWS CANNOT ACCESS THE INSTALLATION SOURCES. VERIFY THAT THE INSTALLATION SOURCES ARE ACCESSIBLE, AND RESTART THE INSTALLATION.
I did restart the PC to have another go, but the computer took an age to get back to the setup screen, and in the process of booting the PC sounded like it switched off and came back on again. It seems whatever I try and do I'm presented with an error message of some kind.

WINDOWS CANNOT ACCESS THE INSTALLATION SOURCES. VERIFY THAT THE INSTALLATION SOURCES ARE ACCESSIBLE, AND RESTART THE INSTALLATION.

That is usually because there is somthing wrong with the media. A poor/scratched dvd, or a bad image burn to the disc.

Try burning another dvd.

Or extract the iso to usb using this:
(just leave it set on FAT32)

Hi All,
Greets.
Sir(s),
BJC1992 :
1. I would like to see whether the recovery partition is still there on the internal hard disk and how far you can go with it ! I think till now you used only external media i.e. recovery disks and not the option/partition on your hard disk. Its not very difficult. So here we go : Take all the external media out/ ejected i.e. pen drives, cd, dvd, external hard disk, etc. Now press the power button and at once start pressing F8 repeatedly > Advanced boot options (black screen) > click 'Repair your computer' and try to 'reinstall windows' i.e. "Destructive Recovery Option".
You don't have to use Recovery Disks for this

2. If not interested in Recovery ( above ), The next step is to ascertain your windows 7 edition, choose between 32/64 bit downloads, go for the download, check the integrity of the download & prepare the installation media. Make 100% sure the edition of the pre-installed windows on your desktop i.e Ultimate OR Home Premium OR Starter OR Professional OR Home Basic OR ...
Both licenses are tied to the specific version. You can choose between 32 & 64 Bit.

Let us know.

I can no longer access a menu by pressing F8, it just says BootMGR Missing, but I had already tried the destructive recovery option and was presented with an error message. With everything I've tried to do to get this fixed I am always stopped by an error.
Today I burned a new ISO disc and the installation began, I left the computer to it for a little while and when I returned it looked like it was running a check disk, I saw it say things like correcting/deleting files, or corrupt files, then by screen started to look like the matrix and for the next half an hour as it was scrolling through orphaned files, whatever they are. Eventually it stopped and I was close to the end of the installation process and an error come up, saying something about not being able to validate the license for the computer, any ideas what's up with it?

Hi,
Greets,
Sir,

not being able to validate the license for the computer

1. As said earlier the license key is tied to the specific edition. Are you sure the edition you are using is the same as it was originally.

2. From a long time i did not make a windows 7 install. You probably would have entered the retail key during installation ? Just don't do that ! Don't go for activate online. It can be comfortably activated afterwards. But first make sure what i said in point 1 ( above )

Let us know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

Format the drive.
Then run checkdisk
If that is ok, proceed with the installation.

To format the drive select "Drive options Advanced"

It is the original version, but it doesn't even ask for the licence key, or will it not do that?
What I will do it format it and run check disk as mentioned in the above comment, and will see where I get after that.
Thanks again everyone for your help, and patients, I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

I followed the above steps, and the installation went a lot smoother, it installed quicker and this time I got to the part where I could enter my license key, and soon after that it booted and I was presented with the windows desktop.
So I thought that I was out of the woods and everything was fine, but as I started to use the computer it started to become slow, and I heard that noise again, as if it restarted, then the screen went blank and the computer tried to boot, then it just came up with a message saying:
REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE AND PRESS A KEY
I don't know why there would still be issues after reinstalling windows, or why it would restart at random.

You have all signals that you have a failing disk.
Did you do a check disk as SIW2 recommended on #46?

Boot from the installation disk, go to repair, launch a CMD window and type chkdsk c: /f
If it finds bad blocks or bad clusters it's time to replace the disk.

I ran a check disk and it says it hasn't found any problems, but I had suspected that it could be a failing disc as sometimes the computer would freeze for no reason, or would take an age to boot up or shut down, either way the hard disk is 8 years old so may as well replace it since I'm doing a reinstallation of windows.
If there is nothing else I can do then I will mark this thread as solved.

Hi All,
BJC1992 : Sir,

1. I think you never checked RAM. I always thought about it. Go thoroughly with the link. make your own notes and try out this : RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Help Forums
OR
It seems you are easy enough changing RAM & its slots. Go through the procedure as per your pc manual and try out different combinations!

2. I would like to see your Disk Mangement view. Please try out whether you can boot into the system & take the snaps. Otherwise we would use other tools to do the same.
Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image - Windows 7 Help Forums

3. You said there was nothing in the chkdisk scans. I think before concluding that it's disk problem or something else , just try out it in other pc which are compatible with it.

Thanks & Regards. ...

I will try the ram combinations and see what happens from there, I have some spare ram chips available so if that doesn't work I can try another hard disk, so I reckon I will be able to get to the bottom of things, if not then I'll begin a new thread relating to that.
Thanks to all those who have offered me advice.

Hi Sir,
Greets,
Its a little off topic but may we have a 'Recovery Environment' that can be run from USB 3.0, USB 2.0 as good as with CD/DVD. What good if it has a good File Manager/Explorer as well!
