windows live mail failing to open attachments with word

Am using windows seven my windows live mail is failing to open attachments with microsoft office 2007 , I have tried to change the file association in control panel but still fails to open the documents , I did a minor research I got a docfix but its not compatible with windows seven can anyone help me .

Try saving it to your hdd. Then right click and in open with, choose winword.

It is never a good idea to just open a file that comes as an attachment to an email. Better and safer to save to your hard drive, if necessary in a temp folder, then right click on it, choose scan with your AV program and if clean then double click to open it. Better safe than sorry and only takes a few seconds once you get into the habit!
