Windows Updates Caused 'slowdown' after login?

Hi! Bascially, I decided to create a new user account on my Asus U56E Laptop Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit so that I could leave my original user account as my 'work/business' account and have a different account for everything else. The original account was fine and ran smooth. When I created my new account, everything was fine until I started removing programs and did a windows update(which I hadn't done in ages). Both accounts now have similar issue. I had removed the following: Cyberlink media software smart logon(I don't use facial recognition to logon) Microsoft Office 2003 and the 2010 trial. (I left my Office professional 2010 intact). Everything was fine at that point, and then that's when I did the Windows update and there were like 68 updates installed. Now, the computer still starts up fast, after entering my password at the login screen it only takes about 10-15 seconds for the desktop to appear, I can move the mouse around ok, everything in the system tray loads quick (elan mousepad, volume control, kaspersky, hd graphics properties). However, I can't really open anything for about 3-5 minutes. Normally, it would only take about 20 seconds for the desktop to be loaded and ready to open things. It was snap and pop. I could normally hit ctrl alt del and open task manager right after logging in, but now when I do that it continues to hang. Then, like I said, after about 5 minutes, everything that I had clicked; opens. After that, everything runs normal snap and pop... until I restart/shutdown, then I experience the same thing again. lol, my explanations suck. In summary, after logging in and the desktop appears, desktop/start menu/ctrl alt del are all unresponsive for the first 5 minutes(even though I can move the mouse around). I'm 'confident' that it isn't malware related, as that problem only started after all the Windows Updates. One thing I have noticed is a svchost.exe that has about 100,000k mem usage that never did before. Using Process Explorer I see that svchost is for: AudioEndpointBuilder CscService hidserv Netman PcaSvc SysMain TrkWks UxSms Wlansvc Could that be the cause of the long delay after logging in then giving me the 'unresponsive' desktop for the first few minutes? Are there updates that add services/processes know to cause this problem? Are there any 'services' or 'processes' I can disable that will reduce the unresponsive time?

Those sort of symptoms are often the result of a slightly corrupted .NET install (basically, it's having problems 'optimizing' itself after updating).
You may want to consider uninstalling .NET 4 and either reinstalling it, or installing .NET 4.5 instead.

Noel, Thanks for the reply. As I went to remove the recent .Net Framework added by Windows Update, I discovered there was supposedly an issue with the installation to begin with. I was unable to remove the .Net Framework updates manually, so I obtained a .Net Framework cleanup tool and applied it towards the most recent updates. After rebooting my computer and logging back in, the almost instant 'snap and pop' is there! Thanks again Noel!

I just booted up. Spent like 45 seconds with a black screen after login, then a black desktop for another minute, then a desktop with background theme with none of the dozens of icons I have on it for another 2-3 minutes. Computer is spending a lot of time checking each bootup to see if my Windows is Activated & Genuine I suppose.

I would blame all these updates for slowing down the computer bootup over time.

Cyberlink software is probably a big factor in very poor computer performance & I'm considering uninstalling it; since Windows 7 doesn't support my external Blu-Ray burner and people are being told to use it on Windows 8 instead by the manufacturer tech support, when they can reach them (ASUS).
