BSOD, random

Well, I'm somewhat at my wits end. About a year ago I started getting BSODs on my system, sometimes recurring, other times they'd go away for literally MONTHS at a time.

When they started I had not really installed or changed anything so I was sure it wasn't software related. They went away for a long time, then came back, and then I decided to reseat everything and they went away for along time again. Came back, and nothing seems to do the trick now. I reinstalled windows 7 and it actually bluescreened on me within minutes of finishing the installation.

I think its hardware related, but I'm not sure, and I don't want to go down the route of buying components and trying them out because I can't be sure that x component has solved the issue since this really doesn't happen all the time going a week or two or months even without an issue is no way to say for sure the issue is fixed since I routinely go that long without issue.. I went about a week without any problems and started getting them again yesterday. I've run memtest86 and that came back with no errors (just the default test that starts auto), I've run chkdsk with no errors, the windows memtest as well. I think it could be PSU related, but I have no idea how to check that out.. other people have mentioned it could just be the mobo has gone kaput.

Ive used a minidump viewer and noticed that ntoskrnl.exe is what bugs out in every case, sometimes with other drivers (ntfs, tcpip, fltmgr) causing the bluescreen. The latest BSOD was due to a page fault error, but no minidump was created. Windows is set to create a kernel memory dump.

Anyway, I followed the steps using the sf dump collector and am uploading it here.. would be greatly appreciated if anyone could look into it

Thanks

Wow thats the first time I've ever heard of someone not having winrar!

I just completed the WD LifeGuard Diagnostic extended test and passed without issues.

Here you go :)

I seem to notice they're cropping up more often when I am running diablo2 if that helps in any way. I run it as admin and in compatibility mode for xp sp2

I just had another. Thing is on the bluescreen page, it froze when dumping the memory to the drive at 80% and I just had to restart the computer. Is that indicative of anything?

Well, still battling issues. No solution yet.

Ordered some new ram just to try, I'm at a loss with what to do. I've tried both current sticks of ram individually and the crashes still occur for both so im thinking thats probably not it.

I'm down to either graphics card or psu..

Sometimes the screen freezes and just locks up, other times it does this and jumps to a bsod.. but due to the fact that it doesnt make it to the bsod sometimes Im thinking maybe the graphics card is just acting up.

Seem worthy?

At this point since I've got really nothing to go on I'm at the stage of just throwing money at the problem and hoping I replace the component thats mucking things up.

I would really really appreciate if someone could have alook at my dumps..

Who made this computer that you are having trouble with? Dell, HP, .....

If you built it, what is the brand/model of the motherboard?

By the way, I don't have Winrar on this employer supplied laptop - so thanks for uploading the native zip.

Hello, thanks for the response.

Its a custom build. Phenom II, asus m4a79xtd evo mobo.

Ive swapped the ram but problems are still occuring (yay!). I actually had it freeze on me while I was in the bios checking to see that the ram voltages were correct. By freeze I mean the screen just freezes where it is and no inputs are taken. When it freezes like this in windows (without a bsod) things like the capslock/numlock etc won't activate.

Ive run all the HD diagnostics I can and it doesnt appear to be hdd related. I'm going to buy a cheapy graphics card to rule that out, and return it (if I can) if the problems persist. Sadly I don't have any sort of onboard video to make this easier.. I really hope its not mobo related *sigh*

Thanks for the additional info. Maybe those that work the BSOD threads will stop by to help out. I just noticed that your system specs did not mention very much info - so I asked for some of the stuff that others might need to help you.

Can you please run a disk check to scan for errors. Follow these instructions.

www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

Can you then download and run seatools for windows to see if your HDD is failing. Follow these instructions.

I have my suspicions about a virus related issue.
Please run your anti virus with the full scan setting. Then can you please download and run malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software

If all of the above come clean then can you please run driver verifier to see if a driver is causing problems.
Follow these instructions.

I've run chkdsk and a (not seatools but wd's version iirc) hd scanning tool before with a long test that took over 2 hours and it came back clean.

I've got latest updated MSE and malwarebytes and both come back clean

I've just enabled driver verifier.

The virus thing doesn't quite make sense if Ive had the thing freeze in the bios though right?

ah sorry about that, I must have missed it.

Have you tried running stress tests on your CPU and Graphics Card?
If not then please run Prime95 and Furmark from these links.

hmm, will attempt to do so. since I enabled driver verifier its bluescreened twice on restarts (as Windows is loading up with the 4 dots spiral in that form the Windows flag logo), and for some reason I don't have internet access when connected wielessly to the router (although I do from my phone which I'm posting from now).

possibly related or coincidence?

Boot into safe mode, if there are any more dump files then upload them. It could be network driver related. That's a strange one because I never installed my network driver because I'm switching to a wired connection.

Disabled verifier and rebooted, no crashes, internet connection loaded right away. I want to note that before I was able to connect to the router, just didn't have internet access.

Perhaps its the wireless network card itself? In regards to drivers loading, such a thing wouldn't have loaded when just simply in the bios right? I'll go back over how to make a dump file and get uploading them, its been a while since I posted this thread and the dump file is probably massive by now.

here are the most recent dumplogs

as you can see there are some pretty big distances between the dump logs, and then a whole bunch.. thats the biggest conundrum to me. its all over the place :\

EDIT::

comp doesn't last more than a few seconds running prime95 before a lockup or bsod. last one was a bad pool header.

The fact that your computer crashes pretty much straight away when running Prime95 is a very strong indication that your CPU is failing. I would replace it as soon as possible.
