BSOD Win 7 --- Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_EQUAL

4.35 always. It fails on both CD's as well as DVD's

Download KernSafe TotalMounter from KernSafe Downloads (it is at the bottom of the page if you scroll down), and you can mount a virtual DVD-RW drive and "burn" ISO files to a directory on your computer. That way you do not have the read to write problem. Then just burn the ISO using your drive once it has finished being made.

I have kernsafe installed....it doesn't look like it supports mp4 files?

Also, can I use this program to copy from one DVD to another?

If you use convertXtoDVD to burn an ISO file, it should work. You can use the program to copy from one DVD to an ISO file and then burn that ISO file to a DVD. It adds an extra step, but it should be a good workaround to your problem until you can contact Toshiba and find out if they can determine the reason for the crashes.

I may just not be following how to use the program, but TotalMounter is looking for an ISO file, and ConvertXToDVD converts to Audio TS and Video TS files. Also, when I input a previously burned home video into my drive to back up to the computer it also only has Audio TS and Video TS files? Can TotalMounter decipher those to convert to an iso?

What you want to do is mount a DVD RW drive emulator through TotalMounter. This requires you to create an ISO file somewhere on your computer (I put mine in the Documents folder). You then use the software you normally would use to burn a DVD and select that drive as the drive you want to burn to. That puts data into the ISO file you created. That ISO file can then be burned to an actual DVD using your physical DVD RW drive.

AH okay. I can work on that tomorrow. I have a warranty via Best Buy (as well as this still should be under the 1 yr manufacturer's warranty) is this something that should be covered?

I believe it will be since it is happening even after doing the factory recovery. You will have to describe the exact steps that cause it. I am working on an image tutorial for TotalMounter for you, as well.

TotalMounter DVD-RW Tutorial

Okay, so following the images:
  1. Start TotalMounter by clicking on the TotalMounter application in the Start Menu under All Programs -> KernSafe
  2. Click Mount (Top left image)
  3. Select Virtual CD/DVD-RW (Top right image)
    • Mount from an image file (Bottom left image)
    • Click Create a new file, size:
    • Click DVD 4.38 G Bytes
    • Browse where you want to store the ISO file (I chose my Documents folder)
    • Click OK
  4. You should end up with the same setup I have in the fourth image. (Bottom right image)
  5. Check in Start Menu -> My Computer/Computer to see if you now have a new DVD RW drive.

Those steps are great!!! Now one last question pertaining to this...I set up TotalMounter the way you showed above, but now am I using this to extract an ISO from a DVD of my home video's or am I using this to take files from my PC, and convert them to an ISO?

My Computer My Computer

OS
Ultimate 64x
Use the software you would normally use to convert your videos to burn to DVD. Select the emulated drive as the drive to burn to using that software. That will generate the ISO file containing the videos. Then you can burn the videos by double clicking the ISO file (software on your computer should know what to do with an ISO file. If not, I can help you find software that does).

Perfect!!

And to restore my pc back to the partition I had before I restored to factory settings, or basically replace this partition with that partition how would I go about that?

Start that Windows disc you made and select only the C: partition (the biggest one) and replace the same partition on your current system.

ConvertXtoDVD burns Audio & Video TS files...how can I get those as an ISO file, so that I can burn them?

My Computer My Computer

OS
Ultimate 64x
It will still "burn" those, but it will input them into an ISO file. All an ISO file is is a DVD file that is made up exactly like a DVD file system. The ISO file will contain the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS in the same manner as a DVD, and then when you burn the ISO to DVD, it will show up on the DVD as VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS instead of as ISO.

So does totalMounter actually perform any burning or is it just a "ghost" drive to act as a burner, so I can get a copy of the files I want to burn?

My Computer My Computer

OS
Ultimate 64x
It does not perform any burning. It is a virtual drive that creates a file so you can burn the file to an actual disc and access your videos from that disc.

And the tech guys at Best Buy said that if I can burn with Windows DVD Maker (Which I can) then it is a driver problem with a 3rd party app, and I need to resolve with the manufacturer of that program!!!!
