Computer freezing randomly for half a second!

Try setting a custom fan profile, set pretty high. I would think 97 may be enough to make it crash. But, the GPU usage is corresponding with the temp spikes, try also turning down the game stings and see if that helps. A lot of people have trouble with that game maxing hardware out.

Hmm just wondering if the volts could be spiking too. Don't remember if the PSU was ever tested if not it might be worth a try just to eliminate that cause if nothing else

Using HW Info

You can test the volts on the PSU with HWInfo HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 -Download < download the right bit version andclose the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power sectionwhere you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.

The original right hand window shows themachine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use themain left hand side panel

FOR OTHER COMPONENTS

Open each + down into the componentitself and then click on it - in theright hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds andother essential info that device. See pic for example.



An alternative is this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/301799-psu-test-dc-output-voltage.html but please use a digital meter and NOT an analogue one becauseit will inject typically 9v into a circuit for testing and that would bedisastrous in a 5v or 3.3v rail (socket / lead/plug)

I'm using a custom fan profile as you mentioned earlier, where it goes up one percent faster every one degree over 40 degrees C.

The PC just got another spike in temps so I took a picture of the volts and temps. I don't know what the volts are supposed to look like, so I'm just going to leave a picture here!
It shows the minimum, maximum and average volts.

Your volts look fine, what you would expect if it was voltage is a voltage drop on the +12V Rail. What fans do you have in your case? Your case, as I recall does not provide a lot of airflow. I'm not saying that is your problem, just could be. Try taking the side off your case and blow a house fan directly inside the case. That should tell you if that is the problem. See what difference that makes in your temps. Your card should not be going that high temp wise.
