I have windows 7 on a computer that also has software that is incompatible with win 10.
Win 10 keeps trying to install.
I called Microsoft support and they took control of the computer.
After a couple of months, win 10 is back trying to install.
Please advise!

Hi Anne,

Im intrigued as to what the MS tech did, any idea??

As far as im aware the KB that upgrades the OS to W10 was pulled quite a while back.
There was an option to Register for W10, now if you did, it might explain its re-occurence,
(after 90 days???)

Anyway lets try these,

1)
from here use option 3
Windows Update - Reset

2)

Open an Elevated Command Prompt
Run the following commands

NET STOP WUAUSERV
REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD
NET START WUAUSERV

Now please reset your update settings to LET ME CHOOSE

reboot

Wait about 10/15 minutes manually check for updates
DO NOT INSTALL ANY - would like to know what its offering you.

Finally
A tool a lot of us used was GWX

http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/GwxControlPanelSetup.exe

Install it after completeing 1 and 2 above

Roy
