Pardon.. but just a small footnoteA USB 3 device can be plugged into either a 2.0 or 3.0 port and it will work
A USB 2 device can ONLY be plugged into a 2.0 port.
USB 3.0 is backward compatible. A USB 2.0 device will work in a USB 3.0 port (but will run at 2.0 speeds, of course). As to why Crabby reported the mouse worked in USB 3.0 at one point? Crabby, might you have, in fact, put it in a USB 2.0 port? Otherwise, it remains a mystery to me since the USB 3.0 drivers have never installed
