Hello all , I recently bought a Fractal Core 2500 Computer Case and was wondering what sought of adapter I would need to get connected to the hard drives . if that's what you're supposed to do with it , here is a pic taken off the same model case on Youtube . It looks like a large sata cable and it has about 15 pins showing on one side .At the moment I run the hard drives off the power supply with connectors that came with it . Thank you .

Hi,
Yep that is a multiple power connector to either hdd or ssd on your second image
Can't make out the first image though
Oh the first image could be a male power for a extension if you notice the second image shows all female ends.

Depending on your power supple those cables should come with it.

Instead of looking at a pic from YouTube, why not look at the case you've just bought and see what that cable is connected to. The big psu sized space (and hole) lower left suggest it's not a power connector. The StarTech splitter is for powering 4 HDDs when the psu only has 1 Sata connector. I never use splitters - prefer a psu with all the necessary cables.

Sorry i'm not very computer techy , all the stuff you just said means exactly nowt to me . I built this computer myself watching someone on youtube and thinking that looks pretty easy . Having a bit spare cash at the time I took the specs from a decent priced gaming PC on Ebay ( so they should all work together ) . And I built it , it seems to work ok but I'm not sure if all the cables are in right or not . The power leads went in now and again and again I think there was 8 small leads in 1 power plug and another had 6 and 2 I think .

I bought a SATA Serial ATA Power Splitter lead 1 Male to 3 Way Female Triple Output Cable online , but the sata end is the same as the on in the computer. There is also a sata power adapter in with the power leads . One end fits over the sata cable in the computer , I hope you can understand all this . Thank you .

The sata adapter looks like it could be just hanging (there is a small plastic oblong with 2 screws holding it to the case . along with 3 other cables with small square plugs on the end , in the vid I think he mentioned for fans .)

It is for the fan controller built into the case that he mentions in the video. The power supply should have a series of those connections for powering up hard drives and the like so it just needs connecting up to one of those and you can run three x three pin fans off it according to the video though I suspect that you could run more than that with splitters. You may need an extension on the SATA power connection just to make getting power to it that bit easier - if you do then just search ebay for "SATA power extension" and pick one up for a couple of quid.

Nettlewarbler - I've looked at the video and Thrashzone is correct, it's a fan speed controller.

Your psu will have a 24 pin connector for mobo power, 12V connectors for cpu (and often gfx card), some sata leads for HDD and DVD and possibly some 4 pin molex. Normally, case fans are either plugged into the motherboard or (older) into a molex connector in the psu harness. Your case seems to have a manual fan speed control that goes between the case fans and the harness - plugs into one of the sata connectors.

You don't have to use the fan controller - you could plug the case fans straight into the mobo -but some folk like to turn up the airflow when gaming, converting video etc, and down for quiet normal use.

edit - apologies if my 1st reply was a bit flippant.

Hi indeed I would just let the mother board control all the fans and not worry about the switch on the rear of the machine.
The mother board bios is perfectly capable of adjusting as needed fan speeds :)

That connection is for the rear exhaust fan speed controler switch on the rear.

I believe this is the one you need to connect to the power supply and to that connection
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-108494-8-Inch-15-Pin-Express/dp/B009GUP6O0/ref=pd_sim_147_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=41-s5%2BPGlqL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=T41WPXXNV2A3B5KDAT7N

Either way the power supply should have the cable you need for it.

Thank you I will get one soon .

My motherboard is an msi Z97 PC Mate . I took some photos of the leads left in the Power supply box if any ones interested . ( i'v been trying without success to install Sony Cybershot Play Memories Home , quite a few people have been having trouble trying to download and install it from the website they list in the booklet. I had to install it from this one is from someone who kindly listed an alternative site . ). Anyway can any of these leads be used to act as an adapter lead to the Sata leads on my computer , I hope you can understand this message . Thank you very much . Sorry I cant upload the photos , I think they're too big some are about 4mp in size . I think it says 2mp max for jpg files , have to go now . Goodbye .
