June 9th 2015 Windows Updates

Today, as part of Update Tuesday, we released 8 security bulletins.

We encourage customers to apply all of these updates. For more information about this month’s security updates, including the detailed view of the Exploitability Index (XI), visit the Microsoft Bulletin Summary webpage. If you are not familiar with how we calculate the XI, a full description can be found here.

We released one new Security Advisory:

• Update for Juniper Network Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client (2962393)

One Security Advisory has been revised:

• Update for Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer (2755801)

Some may have more, some less. What I've noticed, it depends on whether or not you have added other Microsoft (MS) programs like Office, Skype et alia.

I looked around for:

• Update for Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer (2755801)

And it's only for 8, 8.1 and corresponding servers I imagine adobe flash for IE10 on win7 is handled differently. I'll get back on how it went.

Kb3033890 is 15,5Mb, only for the Windows Media Player.

I finished with mine Robin and so far, so good , install and restarts went well with no problems.

Yep, plenty of updates for Office 2010. I think I had 20 in total including the Office ones.

Beware KB2952664

I updated my PC yesterday and KB2952664 reinstalled itself.

My W7 "pretended" to be locked up, when I told it to uninstall KB2952664.
It just sat on the configuring updates screen doing nothing.
After 5 minutes I manually restarted my PC and it seems to be working properly (for now).

Just ran the updates with no problems at all. I had 7 important and 1 optional. One was an IE11 Cumulative and the usual MSRT. The others were just security patches. The one optional was for stream. It did take a few minutes to get the download started (probably due to busy servers), but all went fine. Reboot was uneventful also and the system seems to be working as normal. Also, none of the five hidden W10 preparation updates were touched. I also did a System Image save last night before downloading and installing these.

Same for me. It tried to reinstall and I then got "Windows failed to configure updates" and "reverting changes"

When it eventually settled down (after a couple of reboots) KB2952664 appears as an important update again so I hid it!

Most are about an attacker being able to take over your PC.

There`s nothing wrong with it, I just don`t use it. That`s why it says Skype, if you want Skype, by all means install it.

Once again, Google each update and decide if you want to install it.

Hubby's 7 had 20, he has Office 2010 so probably a load for that. My 7 needed 18, I've got Office 2010 on that as well. My 8.1 had 10 plus 2 Optional that has Office 2007 installed.
All installed with no problems, I always let the updates install.

I have 9 updates on my gaming machine, with the same plus 1 Office update on my work machine. All held as usual for a few days pending further developments and recommendations, although I'll certainly be hiding the ones associated with upgrading to Windows 10.

Upgrading to win10 sounds like a good deal, but, there are still too many unknowns at the present for me, and having those win10 KB's on a machine poses a clear and present danger that one misstep could change your operating system before you are ready for it.

We've all seen the posts where updates were run without prior approval or knowledge of the machine owner, and MS has done that to me to. I do have KB2952664 and KB3021917 installed on my machine, how they were installed I do not remember, but so far I haven't had the horror stories that others have had; With them I'm in a watch and wait and see if anything happens mode.


The clock is ticking until "free" runs out on July 29th, 2016.

I wasted yesterday afternoon repairing my OS.

I uninstalled KB2952664 and ran SFC, which complained about something.
I happened to be reading the SFC /SCANNOW thread, so I also uninstalled KB3022345.

SFC still complained, so I ended up reimaging my PC.
A search indicated that people started having issues after February's updates, so I had to use my January image.

I then had to apply 5 months worth of OS & software updates.

Anyone have this bug with trustedinstaller after updating? Basically it stays at 100k memory usage permanently until I restart windows 7 again. really annoying.

Gonna have to switch to 10 eventually because microsoft has screwed 7 now.
