I believe that the RC is only available as a download. It should be published after it reaches the RTW stage.

Hello Danny,

This will only a RC build and not a RTM yet, so it will most likely still be a manual download at the IE9 homepage link on the first page again. :)

Sure mate :D I for one, will not be using it in RC stage. I'll be using it when it reaches Windows Update.

Same thing for Firefox betas. I'll be using that when it becomes a final release.

Hopefully, by the time those things happen, I won't be disappointed :D

Just installed on Windows 7 x64. First thing I see is the option to show tabs on a separate row. I like that much better than having them on the same row as the address bar. I'm not seeing the "do not track" option, which I thought was going to be included in the RC. Does anyone know if it's here and how to enabled it?

Wow, this thing feels 'fast' - Is there a way to use Small icons in the nav-bar ?

I thought the box that says 'never allow sites for your phsyical location' was Geotracking, not related to DO NOT Track, I don't think.

Can anyone naswer this one or - has anyone else experienced this.

I had been using the IE9 Beta for some time, and was pleased with it.
A couple of days ago, I needed to reconfigure an option in my Linksys router. Thats when I found the bug(? maybe?)
First, selecting the IP (standard for linksys and many others) http://192.168.1.1/ led to a blank page. reselecting got me, as normal, to the login page.
Logged in, as I have done countless times in the past. I then had to wait about 1 minute, before the page would open. I went through my IE9 options singly, but nothing could improve this opening time.
I treied my alternative browser (Forefox) absolutely no problem.
So, back to IE8 and, Bingo, no problem again.
Anyone any idea at all what is going on here?

Later. Thoughts and experiments. I wonder if this is an FTP issue with IE9?

Same here. IE9 Beta has hard times navegating inside my SB 6120 Motorola cable modem (http://192.168.100.1) and E2000 Linksys/Cisco router (http://192.168.1.1)WEB pages.
Difficulties go from very long time to access the pages to the need to click several times to open the pages or change to other page.
I have tried IE9 Beta several times since its launching with the same results.
Interestingly, IE9 Beta works correctly on the WEB pages outside my modem and router.
Needless to say that IE8 works flawlessly on same pages.
Hope RC corrects this bug.

RC and bug's gone

Ok I have this installed. Already dont like it.

1 - I thought IE8 was left intact and this is along side it? but it has overwritten IE8.
2 - Too much empty area for web page, no menu status bar etc. feels plain and not giving me info readily on screen. So eabled status bar, menu bar and command bar.
3 - with these things turned back on the status bar no longer gives me web page loading progress graphic, doesnt show simple adblock icon either.
4 - menu bar is below tabs and address bar, no way to put at top where it belongs?
5 - likewise no way to drag position of command bar like I could in IE8? doesnt need a line to itself.
6 - it also seems to have forced font smoothing on.

IE9 is fast but the GUI leaves a lot to be desired compared to IE8.

IE9 is fast but the GUI leaves a lot to be desired compared to IE8.

1. No way to do this easily, basically you need to run it in a VM (not the solution anyone is looking for)

2. These can be enabled by right clicking on an empty space near the tabs, and click them on as desired (but mostly the minimalism is by design)

3. Don't use so I cannot comment, sorry

4. That is by design, and the way IE9 is supposed to be. No work around to my knowledge

5. The command bar combines with the favorites bar when they are both shown

6. I think that's a good thing. Smoother fonts can't be bad, can it?

I downloaded ie9 in hopes that it would be as good as Chrome, so I could just use the OS's default browser. I tried all day yesterday, but it is just uncomfortable compared to Chrome. Chrome is still faster and just easier to use. I do like ie9 better then ie8, but that's about it................ However, I do like how ie8/9 treats downloads compared to Chrome!;)
