I have Sandra installed to help set up and monitor my PC. The program warns a fan is bad (shows 52 rpm's for cpu fan) but pop the case open and it's spinning fine. Look in setup at boot shows all 3 fans at pretty much same speed. Could this be a defect in the Mobo or something in setup. It's no big deal but I'm curious.:huh:

More likely it's a problem with Sandra.

- All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
There are tons of them out there but a good lightweight one that tells you fan speeds and voltages is HWMonitor. Some systems just will not work with software because of the sensor chips.

Yep, that thing has been buggy like that since the first time I tried it several years ago.
Better option, give hwinfo32 a try instead,

Am I doing something wrong or are those functions only in a paid version or?
Stormy: does the free version of the app you mention provide this? I think I looked at that app a few weeks back and it provided only some of the things on the list below.
Intel's Desktop Utilities provides all of this stuff, but last I checked they did not have a Windows 7 version available.

For me it is showing most of them. For whatever reason it isn't showing the +12V reading (it isn't the only one that misses it) and mis-reading the 3.3V. Other than that it is OK. It also has the option to minimize to the systray.
Personally I prefer Everest, it has always read everything correctly. That and for its built in Sidebar/gadget support, comes in real handy with dual monitors.
