Windows 7 main os dual boot XP

O damn im screwin up... Ok lets strat from the front. I want to get rid of all partitions tell me how to do that with PW i wanna start from the beginning.

I think i figured it out let me pop in the xp cd.

When i try to exit out it ask me am i sure it will cancel all pending operations. does that mean it is doing something right now.

I see what i was doing wrong i was not hitting apply.

o crap i forgot something about the bootmanager now at the restart it says bootmgr is missing

ctrl alt del to restart.

Insert the XP disc and run start up repair x3

I popped in the bootable cd that you told me to burn is there anything i could edit it from here?

or Should i go ahead and just install xp and its doing that for a reason, for xp being able to install now...

No,i didnt realise you were trying to boot Win7
Insert the Windows 7 disc,let it load
Choose "repair"
In the repair console run start up repair x3

Then we will move on from there.

None is what it says. The only thing that says active is the new partition i just made, as of that is what i was told to do.. i think,,,

I am able to view that because i have the bootable cd in that you told me to download.

Put the Windows 7 Installation disc in,click Repair under the install button.
Run Start up Repair three times.

Ok i have my own windows 7 cd ill try it that way and no i didnt touch the 7 partition all i did under the xp one was set it to primamry then active.

Alright i just put in MY original windows 7 cd its loading files waiting to get to the screen so i could click repair. It shouldnt matter if they were the cds i have right? its still the same type of windows 7 which is pro.

Alright it found a problem it asked me to restart for the repair and you said do it 3 times right.

If it says the problem is fixed try booting into Windows 7,if not repeat the process.

ok,when you restart your pc,put in your xp disc and boot from it.then click install>advanced.This will allow you to choose where you want to install the XP OS,you pick the XP partition,then install to that.then it should have dual boot

Sometimes you need to run start up repair again to allow the bootloader to show both xp and win7,so just run it 3 times
