Hi, I had the same problem, what I did - I removed the laptop's SATA hard drive and connected it to my desktop computer, erased everything that was on it, installed it back to my laptop, and installed windows vista. For some reason windows 7 doesn't work on my laptop either. If you don't have a sata hd, then you need an adapter to connect the laptop's hard drive to your desktop pc.
