Windows Cannot be Installed to Disk 0 Partition 1

I had wiped my hdd and tryed to reinstall windows but everytime i try i get this

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled is the computer's BIOS menu."

The computer originally had Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit but all i have is a Windows 7 Professional 32-bit CD im not sure why it wont install any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome Zlaxon mate may I start by asking why you are installing a 32bit version over a 64bit version of Professional?.
Plus what sort of media are you using if like I suspect you have - got the 32bit version because it was cheaper from a online store ie Ebay then I would be quite suspicious of the authenticity of that media.

I didnt want to but a long time ago i was having issues with my PC being slow so i was doing a system restore i dont remember what happen but i dont think it got to finish i ended up not being able to run the PC at all so i wiped the Hdd clean

Hum Z now the slowness mate could ahve been due to a lot of things and things thta evena system restore will not cure.
So what media have you got? - or do you know the activation code for the original OS as that 64bit system OS would have been tied to that board.

Oh im sorry the CD i got was from a Hospital my mother ustu work at 571176-DN1 i dont have the serial key for this one

Read over the steps to ask back any questions. If you stick with only the tools and methods in the tutorial then you will get and keep a perfect install for as long as you do. Then save a backup image to use in place of reinstalls.

Im not sure how i would make an iso disk or download anything all i have is an empty hard drive and a Operating System DVD Windows 7 Professional i apologize i dont understand. The first few steps im unable to do i cant install windows on my blank hard drive. Alot of the rest or the steps are for making back ups and installing programs.

You do not own a license for Professional. You own a license for Home Premium which came with the PC and can be reinstalled as often as you want as long as the Product Key on the COA sticker is readable.

The tutorial has been used over a million times to reinstall factory OEM without a single failure or complaint. . I don't know why you think you'd be the first it doesn't work for. Ask back questions needed to get it done.

Be sure to read the Special Note for HP owners at the end as you may be able to do a minimal Recovery which is nearly as good if the Recovery partition will still boot and run. I'd also test the bootable diagnostics using ESC key at boot as if it will run the the small tools partition is worth saving. If not you can delete all partitions during install

You can skip the preparatory steps after making the 64 bit installation media from Steps 1 and 2.

If the error persists work through these steps for http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/324687-windows-7-installation-failure-overcome.html. When you go to boot Win7 media using F9 key at boot, do you see EFI choices?

Yes Greg but if Z doesn't know that activation code how is he going to run the install, and if he did wouldn't that activation be tied to a board at wherever the media came from ? Personally I think Z would be better off getting an OEM and be done with it.
If he has the code then alls well but that is just what I would do for the sake of a few dollars.

There is no reason to install Professional since Home Premium came with the PC. The Product Key is on the COA sticker affixed to PC and is good for the life of the PC to reinstall as often as you want.

Why are we even discussing throwing away a perfectly good Home Premium license worth $100??

Sorry read that as had own machine but the media came from a hospital. Now seeing I work in health I am wondering if the OS is an Enterprise one would that make any difference??

Im sorry i have my serial number on my pc i just dont have a way to make my own iso disk so i guess my question is how do i fix my PC woth the disk i own i have already deleted all partitions the Hdd is blank

Set the bios to default settings.

Did you delete all the partitions down to unallocated space when you attempted the install ?

You`ll need to make the Home Premium dvd on a working pc with a dvd burner, all you need is 1 blank dvd, last time I bought them at Walgreen`s, a 5 pack was $2.99.

There is no point in installing Professional if you don`t have a key for it

Yes i did then i used the cmd to creat new partition and activated it but still wouldnt install :/ if making an iso is my only option do i need a certen program to burn an iso? Or would it be fine on its own i can probubly go to the library

It`s a dvd, not a cd.

Then use the time until you can borrow a PC to study and ask questions so you're ready to get a perfect install.

I'd also have the network driver in my backup from the HP support Downloads Webpage for your model, so you can install it to get online if the driver isn't provided during install. Plug in by Ethernet cable to increase chances.

The rest of the drivers will come in via Windows Updates.
